People will Only make you as mad as you let them. If you find yourself getting Pissed off at someone you likely don't even know, and will probably never meet, You may be better off Selling your computer and seeing a Shrink.

" Mr. McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."
scarletfeather 09/18/2008
Just ignore them or don't read their comments, if they anger you that much. There are maybe 1 or 2 people here who have angered me, and I've found it's best to just get over it.
irishgit 04/15/2008
No, but some of them make me laugh so hard I've sprayed coffee all over my keyboard.....
trebon1038 02/28/2008
Agreed...though having some emotion and debating such is fine, if you are downright angry then staying here is stupid...this should be a good time.

This is no reason to give up on RIA, but the proliferation of useless 'reviews' - mostly posted by fbxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'ers - is driving me up the wall because they move the 'recent postings' along so fast that sensible entries are lost in the shuffle and therefore don't get a chance to be seen.

It's an opinion site, weak-hearted people should either avoid it or take blood pressure medication.
numbah16tdhaha 07/13/2007
I either ignore those people or use them for target practice...

it appears that this has been the reason for a few of the posters to leave. some of them have experienced bad experiences. over the years there have been some trolls who have come on and harassed some of the posters. i may get annoyed now and then. but most experiences have been good. I have visited some real nasty sites that are way worse and meaner. { cybermom comes to mind} RAteitall has been ao good visit for the most part. would even reccomend to friends.

Frankly, that kind of stuff needs to be taken with a grain of salt. For whatever reason, the internet seems to attract its own fair share of social discontents who don't know how to behave themselves. On this site, people have left because of constant harassment from other reviewers, whether it is on public forums or through private messages. I've learned that it's not truly worth the effort getting worked up over such people. Indeed, most people who engage in such behavior do it because the internet gives them a faceless forum to do it. Anyone who intentionally attacks another reviewer on this site is probably a coward who feels that they can only get away with it here and not in "real life". The reason why they do it is because the threat of physical punishment is non-existent, you're not going to get the "RIA police" knocking on your door to punish you for bad behavior (unless if we form an "RIA militia"!), and the maximum punishment that the owners of the site can do is simply kick you out. People unfortunately see their opportunity and take it. Certainly, it's no reason to leave the site entirely.

I felt a lot angrier at last week's officiating during the NFL playoffs than all the combined energy of the goofball zealots here. . .

Anyone who gets that upset about an anonymous entity on a website really has to examine his or her life and/or sense of priorities.
CherrySoda99 04/08/2005
Well, it's not like it's a real live situation. You can avoid them, or just not pay attention to what these morons have to say. It's not like they can control you.

If you can't handle IRA which is relatively tame, you would hate the big bad world of newsgroups and the internet where people can be really rude, and where swareing is permitted.
twinmom101 02/15/2005
There have been some serious morons on this site, but it's not like you have to live with these people. It's just an internet site, not real life.
Jar-Jar Binks 02/15/2005
I hardly get upset @ RIA people. I just don't pay attention to them.
Donovan 11/18/2004
Oh yeah, but all in all I take it in stride.
Mr.Political 11/17/2004
Not really. I mean, other places have users that are so vulgar and inflamatory that it's not even worth reading the comments they leave, especially if that particular website doesn't have well inforced rules. Furthermore, most of the people on RIA just want to express themselves and don't sincerly want to offend anyone -MOST of them...

I really try to keep things in perspective. No doubt I have angered people, though that was never my intention. I rarely allow myself to become angered by others. The only way I'm going to be upset is if I think I have hurt someone. But it would be very boring here if we all agreed. Also, I-J-R IS from another world. I think I might be from the same one. Take me to our leader, I say, in a robotic voice.

Sometimes, yeah, something I read makes me feel like my head's about to explode. But, if you think THIS place is bad, check out other websites, or some message boards. Sometimes, it's enough to make you lose faith in humanity (or, at least for the population who has access to the internet). But, honestly, if you're looking for some wisdom, the wisest people are probably those who stay OFF the internet, because they know better than to try to find intelligent conversation online (yeah, once in a while, you'll get a great intellectual conversation, but those are few and far between).
