 | James76255 (17) 04/25/2005 | Another guy I would like to see make a run, but maybe not in '08. I think Wes Clark proved that military experience alone is not enough for voters anymore. Franks should take a stab at the house or a senate seat first.

 | cutegurl (15) 04/21/2005 | Don't get me wrong, I love and respect General Franks and everything he does and has done for our country. That being said, I just don't think he has enough experience being in a Washington leadership position to handle being president. I think the man is a great leader and has all the atributes we could ever want or hope to have in a president, but when it comes down to it, he just doesn't have the political experience. Being a leader in the military and being a leader in the political ring are two very different things. The politcal world requires a certain amount of, diplomacy if you will that has to be developed over time. Even with just one term in the Senate, this man would have my vote, but as it is he is not the most qualified. However, if it came down to him and any other liberal, Franks all the way.

 | Stephen C. Y. Pao (0) 02/22/2005 | General Tommy Franks is a perfect soldier in experience and leadership and a perfect thinker who represent the whole American patriotism. By his personality, he is kind of the person who's willing to tie a common sense of all American citizens. Tommy Franks and New Gingrich got the same birthday, June 17 with me. We are also the fellow Gemini IIIs (June 11-18) of the former U.S. President George Bush Sr., Mario Cuomo the former Democrat Governor and former Vice-Presidential Nominee of Bill Clinton, and the Democrat U.S. Senator West Virginia Jay Rockefeller. Tommy Franks is a good politician also. Most Gemini III politicians except Senator Jay Rockefeller are very attractive in the first, but very faded in the last. I just worry he is going to lose the re-election of the presidential election or vice-presidential election if he became the U.S. President or Vice-President, like George Bush Sr. lost to Bill Clinton in 1992, and Mario Cuomo lost the gubernatorial election to George Pataki in 1994.

 | johnbob (0) 01/30/2005 | Decisive leader; down-to-earth and comfortable with the common man; not burdened with long voting record; a winner image.

 | abichara (60) 12/07/2004 | Interesting choice. May turn out to be the Wesley Clark of the Republican race, however with a lot less baggage. Seems to have some qualities that will appeal well in the political arena. He campaigned for Bush in 2004, possibly signaling an interest in the race. Could be a darkhorse in the race--and highly electable in a presidential contest. He doesn't have the stature of an Eisenhower though.

 | texas4cash (0) 11/23/2004 | Tommy Franks would be a contrast to the president. Though I like the president I do believe because of his military background and having to work with many different races he would be more of a moderate than President Bush. I also think he would appeal to men, military, moderates, etc. He could probably garner a higher number of black votes as well. He could very well be the next Eisenhower, especially if he were to get elected and then end the war quickly.

 | donkeyguy (0) 11/19/2004 | Senator, yes. Pres,no. Too many negatives. Westmorland could not have ran during Vietnam, Franks will not be able to run the longer Iraq drags on.
