 | hardrockfanatic (8) 09/19/2008 | My interest has started to wane I must admit. When I first joined, I was on fire for this site for a few weeks and now it is kind of redundant.

 | twansalem (44) 09/19/2008 | It's a good reason to take a break, and no one has to come back, but it doesn't mean you should delete your account. If you don't delete your account, you can come back and you still have all of your old reviews and lists, and you won't have to recreate a trusted network from scratch. I haven't been posting as much the last week or so, mainly because the primary topic right now is the election, and while I have my opinions on the election, I don't enjoy elaborating on them very much, and I also don't enjoy reading about it too much. But I'm not going to leave because of it, I'll just spend less time here. I still log in most days, and if a list catches my attention, I'll rate it. If there's nothing interesting, no big deal, I'll just come back tomorrow.

 | 93century (38) 08/21/2008 | Yeah i comment here off, and on. I get bored from time to time. One thing that annoys me is i try to make a comment so an RIA regular can see it, but they get clustered within a bunch of RIA newbies comments. As a result my comments sometimes are not seen, and or rated. Its great commenting when the RIA regulars are here, and no newbies. My newest interest is making Youtube videos. My channel is craig1974.

 | scarletfeather (53) 07/25/2008 | People go through different phases and their interests change. After I left RIA a couple of years ago, I got involved with a celebrity gossip website. At first I loved reading all the gossip, but the posters were 99 per cent female. The forum became Drama Central with catfights galore. Periodically the webmaster would whine that we was broke and would solicit contributions. Here there are disputes and arguments, but at least there are no catfights. And Lawrence hasn't hit me up for a donation yet.

 | ChildOfSatan (9) 07/25/2008 | I understand losing interest in a message board although I like this one because I see it as being more productive than one I recently left of horror movies called Fangoria.com. I was a member with 3500 posts but the site was mostly it was just a bunch of malcontent, social misfits bitching about the number of horror movies being remade. You should have seen these horror boards a year ago when Rob Zombie's Halloween came out! If a person had a positive thing to say about this remake then the herd mentality of the site would come down on you like a pack of hyenas! I mean it was like cyber-socialism!! There was the acceptable opinion and if yours differed you were mocked. Very silly. I complained to the mods and they agreed with me that a person had a right to post his opinion as long as it's in accordance with the rules no matter what it is and it is to be respected and handed out warnings but the experience soured me to the site and I left. Never saw so much complianing in my life! Most of them are wanna be film-makers, actors and screen writers that couldn't appear on film if someone shot a polaroid at them. I like it here more. The views are more interesting and I learn more about not only movies but a wealth of topics. However I guess people do get bored and leave but hey...they are replaced with new members. Like me! : )

 | Katrinabena (20) 07/25/2008 | I think this is a valid reason why some people leave RIA. You sign up and your comment and rate things you are passionate about whether it is music, social issues, or whatever and after you pretty much have rated things you are interested in, the novelty can wear off.

 | irishgit (155) 04/14/2008 | Pretty much everything on this list is a good reason for leaving, if one feels that way. I've taken a sabbatical from time to time, so to speak, and so have many others here.
I know there are those of you who'd like me to take a longer, permanent one. Some of you might like to help this happen. If so, please send your donations to irishgitsabbatical@yahoo.com. I accept paypal, VISA, MasterCard and American Express and your donation will be discretely billed as "Hot Brazilian Bimbo's Gone Wild" and no tax receipt will be issued. Thank you very much.

 | ILikePie (54) 02/27/2008 | There have been various months where I've lost interest and gone on a temporary leave while I waited for a few new topics to build up before I come back properly... but I never leave permanently. If/when I do leave, this would probably be the reason.

 | Molfan (63) 08/05/2006 | that would be a big reason to quit. for the most part it is fun to come here and make comments. sometimes i am more in the mood than other days. might check in to see what some of the subjects are if nothing all that interesting, I may log off and come another day. depends on the day and what is going on.

 | amazonfeline (0) 02/23/2006 | Oh please. I am going to speak up for all the users who are underrated, new & unpopular. Everyones comment seems to state how wonderful Rateitall treats them because they are popular not because they are not. To be honest this website isnt that welcoming toward people who are new & not popular when it comes to rating them helpful. There is a lot of emphasis on that in which isnt welcoming. Rateitall blows down to how popular you are not whether you make sense or not. Ive even viewed a male popular reviewer degrading a female (who wasnt popular) & he gotten more helps than she did even when shed put him back in his place. This website is anti-social & stick to mainly their small circle of online friends thats why a majority of Rateitall users just leave a few comments then find something better to do. Frankly I dont care if I get so many unhelpfuls over this comment, because I am new or voice my opinion because I have a life outside this place. Thats the way I see it & Im too proud to care about who segregates who in this place. Rateitall has this unwelcoming reputation & must be prepared to take criticism.

 | Bird808 (55) 02/13/2006 | Don't get me wrong RIA is a good site to come to from time to time and for anyone whose coming here for the first time it can be exciting and pretty addictive. But lets face reality folks, its just so easy to loose interest in RIA after a while. Theres only so many times you can comment on something before you sound like a broken record as there have been times you see the same lists coming up over and over again and find yourself commmenting on the same things over and over again. When theres a new topic or a change somewhere then thats when things get exciting, but after a while that quickly dries up too. Its not a bad thing to loose interest these things just happen.

 | Donovan (141) 12/02/2005 | UPDATE: I haven't posted very much recently and have noticed that a lot of the other reviewers that have been with RIA for a while are not as active on the site either. I'm not sure what it is exactly, whether I've lost interest or I'm just too busy elsewhere. No, I'm not leaving the site but it has lost the initial draw I originally enjoyed. Maybe it will return but if not, it's just a website. I do hope though that my words were and are found to be encouraging and when appropriate funny! ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Then it's time for you to move on or at least take a break.

 | kamylienne (84) 05/04/2005 | Yeah, if you're no longer interested, then of course you should move on, at least for a while. There's no point in staying if you're just going to be bored, anyway. Take a break, play some online games, check your e-mail, whatever. RIA doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon, so if you wanna come on back, it'll be here.

 | abichara (66) 02/20/2005 | With a wide variety of items to rate, it is difficult to lose interest in the site. Just keeping up with current events causes me to neglect some the topics that I want to discuss more in depth. This is the place to go to record my thoughts on an issue.

 | James76255 (26) 02/17/2005 | This is usually my reason for leaving a particular site. After awhile I just get bored with it and move on. I can already tell, however, that RIA will be one of those sites I drop back in on from time to time.

 | Teaseress (15) 02/15/2005 | Erm, Jar-Jar.. The point of RIA is that *anyone* can post their opinions on here - so that means even if you are racist, a bigot, sexist etc etc then you can (as long as your comments aren't totally and utterly offensive then Lawrence might remove it) So therefore the older generations certainly can. I think you need to get speaking to older people to see what they are like. They were young once too. And remember, you are going to get old yourself.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (17) 02/15/2005 | Good reason. ... There are too many older generations of people in this network. I have NO RESPECT for the elder generation especially the Baby Boomers (except my parents and relatives), who I think are jokes. I only like my generation and the younger people.
