Which one? Which Chain? I believe the largest is in the Baltimore-DC area.

There is also Giant Eagle (at least the "Eagle" sets the name a bit apart). This one has stores in Ohio and the Pittsburg area.

I really like the one that is based in Carlisle, PA. This chain is smart: Upon learning of Wegmans expansion plans into their home turf, they have built a huge, fancy, "Super" Giant in the Camp Hill area that is on par, if not a step above some of the best Wegmans I have seen. I believe more are in the works.

Don't forget the small Giant Food Markets chain in the Binghamton, NY area.

They have saturated the metro area I live in (Washington DC), so I go to Giant more than any other grocery store.
Their employees are not the most friendly (Safeway's are better), but they have a good selection and prices are fair--this store gets the job done.

The Giant near me is huge, bright, clean and has everything. And their prices are much lower than competitors.

A pretty good food chain. I've shopped at Giants in Woodbrodge, Lake Ridge, and Sterling, Virginia, and at one in Rockville, Maryland (in addition to the Pennsylvania branch of the Giant chain, in Exton), and for the most part they are a decent place price-wise, selection-wise, and service-wise.

I have to agree with some of the other raters here that the service at Giant is great. The employees at every one I go to seem to have a good attitude about them. And Giant has opened up some new stores and remodeled some older ones to make them cleaner and more customer friendly.

I hate Giant. The produce is horrible, and absolutely tastelesss, not to mention the many occasions when I've seen spoiled produce on display. If I were able to do all my shopping at Costco, and Trader Joes I would. WHERE IS WEGMANS??!!

I shop at the giant in Sterling Virginia and it is wonderful. Everything is immaculate and fresh and the employees are great!! They are friendly and helpful and they appear to actually enjoy their jobs. My one and only complaint is that in the deli, the have hot wings and mac n cheese and potato wedges and they take them down in the late afternoon, they should leave them up all day.

The prices are a little high. We used to shop here a lot when we lived in the Baltimore-DC area, and still do when we go visit our family there in the summer. There's a pretty exemplary selection, good meats, friendly service and the stores are generally clean.

Mainly based in the DC-Baltimore-Philly area. A large, nice, and clean grocery chain. Prices are kind of high though.
