Baby Beanies: Happy Hats to Knit for Little Heads (Amanda Keeys) 5

I've been away from knitting for a number of years & when I picked up "Baby Beanies" & saw the adorable hats I couldn't wait to get back to my needles & yarn. I've completed four of the patterns which turned out beautifully, but am having a problem with the Classic Cap (page 128). It is working up nicely, but doesn't look anything like the hat that is pictured. The brim looks the same, but the body of the hat is totally different. I'm wondering if there could have been an error when the book was put together. Anyone else having the same problem?

I am so impressed with the quality of this book. I want to make all of these hats. Such a creative and beautiful book. I highly reccommend this book. If you had this book and Itty Bitty hats by Susan B Anderson, you would have all you need to fuel your creativity for quite some time. The hats are sized well, and the directions are very clear. This book deserves each and every 5 star rating it has recieved. That being said, stay away from "Scrumptious Toppers for Tots and Toddlers" that book was a huge waste of time and money. (many ill-fitting, honestly ugly hats.) Although it will make you truly appreciate all that this book contains.

I've read several baby hat books, but this one is by far the best, and the pictures are adorable. Of course it helps that the author is also a child photographer !!! Unfortunately she is based in Sydney (AU), otherwise I would definitely want to have a photo shoot for my son. I highly recommend you to go on her website (which is cited on the back of the book), and check her work. She is incredibly talented. About the book, I like that she used different textures of yarns, which make the patterns more interesting. As another person wrote in her review, she gives you the basics first, but then she also gives helpful tips along the way. But even if you don't knit one single hat out of this book (which is pretty hard considering that my hands were itching to start as soon as I opened it), it is already well worth it just for the pictures.

The first knitting book I bought and I love this!! I've already made 3 hats and they came out wonderful! Amanda is very detailed on how to do each hat. She also listed the yarn she used and the size needles she used for each one so that way its easy to replace for different yarns of the same weight/grams. Love this!

I first checked this book out at the library. After seeing all the wonderful projects I just had to buy it. This is a great book filled with cute, colorful little hats to knit. I started off knitting the baby beret. The instructions were very clear and I completed the project in just a few hours. I've been knitting for about 1 year and I feel this book can be used by beginner and advanced knitter alike. Great way to use leftover yarn too.
