Two Small Men with Big Hearts 1

TERRIBLE

- they ate food out of our cupboards when we weren't home (spilling food on the floor without evening having the courtesy of cleaning it up)!!!!! They ate an entire jar of homemade pickles and shoved the empty container in the back of our cupboard!!

- The movers had no idea how to pack a box, we actually had to teach someone how to effectively pack books.

- They set off the security alarm in our storage locker and when the police came, the driver had no driver's license!!!

- They broke a number of items

- When they moved our belongings into our new hours they were hours late and then loudly complained about having to work in the afternoon. They also used incredibly foul language.

- And what has finally pushed me to write this review: today we finished the last of the unpacking and every single cymbal from our drum set is no where to be found. I'm not accusing anyone of stealing but to leave clearly expensive items available for another to walk by and steal is unprofessional.

This company should be put out of business, we are worse off for having hired them. Don't ever use them, you will regret it.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS OUTFIT.......
We used Two Small Men out of BC - Surrey area was our contact for scheduling.
Our move was from Fort McMurray to Vancouver Island for the end of July 2009
I paid the agreed 25% down with a credit card with the remainder due upon delivery.
The full amount was debited to our credit card one week before they were even scheduled to pick up our items. So in effect WE PAID IN FULL BEFORE RECEIVING ANY SERVICE.
This is the first time we had movers and we decided to go this way to treat ourselves.
HUGE MISTAKE
When I called the dispatcher to inquire as to when the crew was going to show he said "sometime in the morning".... ? My adult daughter jokingly asked if that meant 11:59 am...
The movers could not make it the morning they were scheduled. We were scheduled to leave town the following day via flights and driving (there were 3 of us involved) When they called at 9:30 am to try to put our move off to the next day we explained that was not an option. The mover "Chris" obliged us by coming by at the end of loading the first family onto his truck.

They showed up at 430pm with only 2 people to move and estimated 8500 pounds of furniture
We ended up moving all of the boxes from the house into the garage ourselves - about 90 boxes
We had to insist inventory be done. We were all done at 11:45pm and exhausted.
Between my husband, daughter and I, we had put in over 21 hours from 4:30pm to 11:30pm - wrapping and moving our own stuff we PAID A SUPPOSED PROFESSIONAL MOVING COMPANY and we ended up doing half the work ourselves.
Such a dissappointment.
Also, because of their delay I ended up cleaning the house entirely myself because the other two family members had to catch flights. So no ceremonial goodbye to our home of 20 years. We got screwed over. And it put me back a day to drive to the coast. Screwed up our entire timeline.

It wasn't until the day of the move when they did not show up on time that I started looking for reviews on this outfit. Sure wish I did more research in advance, this company used to have a good name many years ago. Not so now. Such a sham.
Luckily we got all of our items and the same 2 people that loaded it unloaded it. I told them in Fort McMurray that there was no way we were in any position to offload the furniture at the other end as this was a one off. I was NOT prepared to work that hard for a service I paid for.

Our move was entirely unique in that the load that was put in before ours was collected within 4 kilometres of our Fort Mac Home and then was dropped off after our load about 10 km from the Vancouver Island destination. Meaning our items were not moved or disturbed. Only two items damaged and that was minor.
It is true, the dispatching manager and others in the company offices will start to get belligerant and ignorant with you over the phone if you start questioning their charges. No sense of customer service with this companies management. The manager said he would refund the charges when I told him I wanted the $ back and would pay upon arrival. There was NO effort made to reverse the charge on the credit card.
Our movers did a great job both coming and going physically packing and moving the items and the driver, Chris was excellent when it came to communication - he has integrity but is certainly working for the wrong company - his expertise in moving could be better utilized with a reputable outfit. Not this bunch of clowns.... It seemed as though they could have scheduled him much better than they did.
They were not able to show up on time and with a skelleton crew was unprofessional.
I wish this company was better prepared.
It made for a most horrible-stressful-exhausting moving experience.
Do not use Two Small Men because you don't know what you are going to get. I could not believe my eyes when they showed up with a 130 lb woman and the driver of the truck.
You cannot make this S _ _ T up! She was very fast and competent and he was strong so that combo worked well but surely was not the 4 man crew I was promised by the coordinating manager.

I wish I had read these reviews before hiring this company. We recently used Two Small Men for our move from Ottawa to Vancouver, including 4 months of storage in between the moves. We ended up paying more than twice what they quoted us. Even the "rate per pound" was higher on the final invoice. They did not bill us at all for the storage but instead put through an unauthorized charge to our credit card, again at a rate twice what they originally quoted us. They were two weeks late with delivery and many of our items are still missing, in addition to the items that arrived damaged. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

I would never NEVER hire this company again! They showed up two days late costing us two days pay, the substitute drivers damaged the furniture, and there was extensive damage done to hardwood stairs in our house. Our moving experience was as bad as it could be!

Wow, would I ever like to talk to other Two Small Men with Big Hearts Victims, Anyone missing a big black garbage bag of clothing?....I have it. TSM won't track the owners and I still have it. Wonder where all my items went, anyone have my stuff? If so I would like to talk to you. private22@live.com would love to share nightmares with Two Small Men of Wpg. They avoid all phone calls, your e-mails go to the junk folder at their office. The head office guy is unstable, threatened me, yelled at me and called me names telling me I had no claim, told me to call the RCMP to make a report, screamed more and hung up, then refused to take any more of my calls. The Winnipeg guys only would answer calls for new moving inquiries and that is how I finally got one of them on the phone. They were 4 weeks late with delivery -initially before my items left Wpg, it turned out that they couldn't find them in their small Wpg lot, because they moved them into a storage trailer instead of a moving truck! -thank goodness i stopped there before leaving Wpg. They broke items, boxes are missing, damaged furniture, 'lost' my blue leather ottoman. All furniture came in pieces for which they lost the "open box" which they claim had all the parts, picture frames broken, women's clothing gone, oh just you name it! You name it, oh yes and I knew exactly how much it weighed, then the guy on the phone told me because of the delay they would give me a discount as it weighed ..... amount but would charge me less, based on a lower weight -duh! I saw the weight of it written on the wall in their office before I left Winnipeg when they were searching for my belongings which were in a storage trailer on their own lot!!!! The discount was the actual original weight - there was no discount but they tried to up it and use that as compensation for the 4 week delay. What a sham!
IF ANYONE SUPPORTS TSM in WINNIPEG - YOU OBVIOUSLY WORK FOR THEM, ARE RELATED TO THEM OR ARE THE FRANCHISE OWNERS YOURSELVES. They should be out of business, I just wonder how many other people out there ended up just giving up, losing items, having things stolen from them, not been able to make a claim. I bet there are thousands over the years. Thieves, you brothers should both be locked up!

I recently hired TSM, now calling itself Total Services Moving, for a crosstown move. It was a relatively small job (2 beds (1 king, 1 full), 3 couches, TV, dining room set, bookshelves, dishes, clothing, some papers in boxes) that the movers dragged out for over 13 hours total. They would have gone longer had I not jumped in and insist on them stepping up the pace. I also started to move boxes myself. I intervened after spending 3 hours unloading my stuff at its destination, the lead worker told me they were "half" finished. After I did so, they closed out the job in 60 minutes. If you sign with them (not recommended) avoid an hourly rate and monitor closely.

I had a move by this company recently and was dismayed to find out after a few days that a small amount of U.S. money was stolen from one of my dresser drawers. They were in a little zipped case (some bills and change). I noticed the theft (after the move) when I went into my top drawer and found the change laying there loose in the drawer, the case was opened and the U.S. bills were missing but not the change.

I had forgotten about this money and in hind-sight, should have taken the money out to bring with my other personal items but does that excuse somebody rummaging through your personal clothing in the hopes of finding something to steal. Which in fact they did. Petty thieves.

I wrote to their customer service and after a month they replied to me saying that they asked the movers about it and (of course) they denied taking the money, that they've been with the company for a long time and this is the first complaint of this nature against them, blah, blah. I don't have actual proof to show the company of this theft because this was all after the fact. All I know is that the money is missing and gone.

My experience may not be as drastic and traumatic as some of the other people who have posted here, but it's still upsetting and leaves me with a sour taste for this company.

Do not trust this company.

Ok, first of all, they loaded my stuff in early september saying they would deliver it from winnipeg to northern ontario within two weeks and signed a contract to that effect. And I waited and I waited and my wife called every day for weeks until I finally did and threatened them with legal action.... this was in late NOVEMBER. When my stuff finally got to my house it was on a wednesday at 1 A.M. and the truck drivers didn't speak word of english. What was worse was that they weren't even from Two Small Men, they were from another company who had "purchased the contract". For shame.... for shame, the only positive was I left winnipeg....

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This is a warning. 6 weeks late on our move. Left several messages with branch offices all over the country, no callbacks....nothing. We thought we had lost everything, until one day (6 weeks after promised date) they showed up out of the blue. As the goods were being unloaded, we noticed deep scratches on our dining room table and a large tear in our couch! Please do your research (read below) and look elsewhere. The postivie comments below are obviously folks affiliated with the company. The comments are all so similar. BBB warns consumers, as so do the several thousand unhappy customers. JWG. Beware of this company, the owners and the franchises uses fake or "stage" names. That's why you can never track them down. This is an outright fraudulent/con operation. Both Ontario's Ministry of Consumer and Relations and Movers/Trade Associations have deemed them untrustworthy see: http://www.consumerbeware.mgs.gov.on.ca. They are on the Consumers Beware List, not to mention the Better Business Bureau.  The sad parts is that I read somewhere that the owners are ex Ontario Provincial Police officers?

Realizing that this is a franchised company all across Canada, I see that 'dschmuhl' didn't even state the office location of the movers. If your things didn't all fit in one load, perhaps you weren't completely honest with how much you had when the move was booked.

What a terrible, terrible company. We have yet to receive a response. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. See my e-mail to "head office" in January 2008: From: Derrick Schmuhl To: headoffice@twosmallmen.com Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 2:17 PM Subject: Company Feedback form January 14th, 2008 To whom it may concern, This letter is intended to provide you feedback regarding our experience with your company. Let's start with the facts: Your people were not uniformed as your website promises Your people were not at all professional... your "professional crew" was 2.5 hours late with no call - I had to call them to find out that they were going to be late. Your CS rep, Danny, argued with me when I called a second time and explained that they were late for their second quoted time. Your crew wasn't even assembled by the time I left the first building, as they were still waiting for a worker to arrive by bus - funny that he was just coming by bus at that time... as it was explained to me that it was a mechanical failure that delayed the truck. If he was scheduled show before the breakdown of the truck, why was he late if coming by public transit? Nice story. I was asked for cash by your manager, Paul... twice . Once when I was booking on the telephone and once in person when he showed up for the job. Yeah, non-profit community-serving agencies like us keeps heaps of cash around. What a scam. A three-man crew somehow, amazingly, failed to get all our furniture in one load. We agreed a 7-tonne truck would be provided and I was absolutely astounded that he told me that they needed to prepare for a second load. I said no, of course and have now gladly hired others to do it. He seemed disappointed not to get to do the second load, as I'm sure it was the plan to short the load and hit us up for a second one right from the start. It's funny - if he had been on time in the first place, I might have even gone for it (I really needed things done quickly), but as fate would help me to a decision - we only had the elevator booked until five and they just started the unloading at 4:15. Finally - the crowning jewel of our disappointment in your company - additional charges were not explained to us before the move. The whole deal was arranged over the phone - no paperwork. The additional "travel charge" added at the end of the day was a bigger load than the one your men moved for me. I paid, under protest - I had bigger responsibilities to take care of. All I can say from this point is I am so disappointed. We have a large move this Spring. The smallest quote we have received for the job so far is over 50K (for 1.5 entire office buildings) and it will never go your company. I would rather pay an expensive corporate mover than ever deal with this kind of situation again. We will be recommending to all of our community partners, funders and corporate contacts to not to use "Two Small Men" in the future. You really should check out your own reviews on the internet - I am sure that the similarities are not just a coincidence: http://www.rateitall.com/i-22232-two-small-men-with-big-hearts.aspx http://www.epinions.com/content_268441587332 http://two-small-men-with-big-hearts-moving.pissedconsumer.com/ I welcome any comments regarding this feedback. Wow !!! Lots of negative stuff here...anyway... We just had a move done in Toronto by Wayne and Max. They were great! They were courteous and very efficient. We have a lot of old and very heavy furniture that we were concerned about. They told us not to worry and that they would take care of us. They moved our stuff in a very reasonable amount of time and nothing got damaged! I would recommend these two any day !!!
Thanks guys

So I used the moving company two small men with big heart to move half my house into my new condo and the other half into a self storage locker. I booked 3 guys about a month in advance, I had even received a phone call the day prior to the move confirming a 9:00am start time. Well by 9:30 still no movers so I decided to call the office, no sooner did I call they were in my drive way. So a rough start to say the least. The driver apologized for his arrival and got right to work... they must have felt bad about being ate because within a few hours my house was in the back of their truck. They managed to deliver all my belongings to both my storage then my condo in one piece. Overall i was happy with the job they did and will recommend them to friends.

Re. Two Small Men with Big Hearts Moving - Double billing scam. DO NOT use this company.

I, and my friends - a couple - moved in August using this company. We moved a week apart into a house that we share in Toronto. Apart from various horrors like turning up late, inexperienced staff, damaging a piano, not being able to fit a third of my friends' goods on the truck, I found out a week ago that the company double-billed all of us for the balance of each of our moving bills. I went to the company's office last week and confronted the accounting person, Julie Blake. After an hour and a half on the phone with MasterCard, TD Bank and MasterCard again I got my money back plus saw what their scam is.

It boils down to a loophole that they are taking advantage of. The moving company has something called a TD Freedom 4 terminal which they use to post all their credit card sales to their TD bank.

The day after my move, they put through the balance owing on my move through their Freedom 4 terminal to TD and ultimately to MasterCard. This is all clearly recorded on their credit card sales printouts for each day. However, the day of the move, one of the men who moved me had me sign a credit card slip for the balance, he then phoned in for an authorisation number. That should have been that and then the credit card slip should be posted the next day as they did. But, I found out that there are two different telephone numbers that can be used to get an authorisation number.

If you have the Freedom 4 terminal you are supposed to use one number that gives you authorisation only. If you use the other number, it will give you authorisation PLUS it puts the request through as a billing. The movers were using the "wrong" number so that a billing would go through in a way that doesn't show up on the regular posting records for the next day. Thus, the company can say - which they did - look, there is no record of a second billing...you have to go back to the credit card company and sort it out. Then they have that 35 to 60 days to hang onto your money until things get "sorted" in a credit card company dispute process. Or, some people might not check their account closely and never see the double billing.

My friends got their money back this week. I think that this was only because of our connection as friends and Julie's fear that I realized what they are up to. She is probably hoping that we're off her back!

I did report all of this to MasterCard security.

We had the Oshawa franchise move us last year. In addition to scratched furniture and being charged for an additional truck because they did not properly assess the size of the load, the movers helped themselves to one TAG and one Swiss Military watch totalling $2500. Needless to say the office was less than helpful. The report is filed with the Toronto Police 21 division. Frankly these are the items that were obvious, I don't know what else they may have taken.

THESE PEOPLE CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!!

When I was searching for a moving company that would move me from Toronto to Thunderbay I was was looking through all of these reviews and noticed that the only people that seemed to write on these boards were the angry ones. Every company seemed to have bad reviews so i turned to friends that had moved. Two small me with big hearts moving was recommended to me. Seeing as how trusted friends had good thing to say about them i decided to try them out. My move went great! The 2 men that showed up did a quick walk through of the house, then started to wrap furniture and pack the truck. Two days later they met my son and i in Thunderbay and quickly off loaded the truck. I would just like to say thank you.

Update: August 2008 - still waiting for delivery of some items from August 2007...its been one year now! I see these 'little minds'...Two Small Men with No Heart are out there 'robbing' for lack of a better word. Keep telling friends and have friends tell others...eventually something will stick to them! By the way, make sure you carefully check the 'taxes' you are paying...remember it varies by province!
Keep spreading the noise about this so called 'company'!

Update to nightmare below...it is now January 2008...still waiting for the rest of MY things (delivery was set for August 2007, guess they need help with schdeuling or just don't know how to read a calendar/clock) which include all my son's sporting equipment! This company either is enjoying many other people's things or enjoy having huge yard sales. Since my son can't enjoy his stuff, I just hope that someone is! Never use this company, keep spreading the word. Two Small Men with Big Hearts - Long Distance...deserve no rating! Do not use they guys! I have been waiting for over one month for my household and personal belongings to be delivered from Hamilton to Charlottetown. The excuses, unreturned phones and bad customer service lists are long. I have filed complaints with appropriate government agencies,BBB, Consumer Protection and have now hired a lawyer. I have nothing to lose here...since these people have it all. I have asked many of the other Two Men Small with Big Hearts offices for help and not one person is stepping up to the plate here. From personal experience...do not use this company, I repeat...you will be waiting and waiting...grab a lawn chair...if you have one and watch this company continue to exist or make a stir, which is what I plan to do!

Avoid TSM Moving Calgary and Toronto like a PLAGUE! They promised to pick up my things on July 10, they came July 11. They promised to deliver my things on July 18, then July 19, then July 21, then July 25, then July 28, then Juyl 31, then Aug 4, then told me that they are still not certain as to when my things will be delivered. TSM moving Ltd (Calgary and Toronto) is DECEIPTIVE, using using Consumers' Choice Award as their front to deceive customers.

Hey Mack1234 - Check your math. If TSM said they do over 5000 moves a month - that averages out to 166 moves a day. Working seven days each week, based on a 30 day month. Nice try - math works for people like us. If I could give these clowns no stars - I would.

they were supposed to deliver new appliances to us, they delivered the stove, took the old one, scratched the door, frame, walls and dropped the drawer on the pavement. then refused to wait 10 minutes for us to move the washer three feet. So i am left with a fridge that doesn't work and two kids with rotting food. I WOULD NEVER HIRE THEM AGAIN!

2008-04-25 UPDATE: Two Small Men have been recently trolling for new victims by posting a few positive reviews of themselves here and elsewhere. Nobody would ever use Too Small Men to move from a $2 million home in BC to Toronto. Oh yeah, and if they did, why would they ask their idiot crack-head mover where to stay? Two Small Men is a halfway house for criminals in training or day-parole. Please read all the reviews. In this case, every awful story is true. Also, check out rebello's comments to 'mislou' and 'smallclaims' - does that sound like someone you would trust? rebello is a perfect example of Too Small Men's twisted and pathetic customer service values, and what you will hear from them if they 'work' for you.

Original Review:
AVOID THIS COMPANY - Two Small Men (With No Brains) posted the positive comments on this board. This is a typical scam of these low-lifes. They will make you regret the moment you heard of them.

Here is what you can expect from these thieves: They will give you a low quote that they will not honour and they will charge your credit card before they pick anything up - the quotation says C.O.D. and they cannot charge anything - contact your credit card company immediately; They will break every promise they make; They will not show up on the agreed time/day and they will not be honest about why they are late; They will not answer your calls (try blocking your number - they're always trolling for the next victim); They will not be equipped - no basics like boxes, tape, blankets, dollies, inventory tags, nothing! - They will not take care of it later at the warehouse; They will use unbonded 'employees' who are either just out of prison or on day-parole for theft (or worse) - they will steal whatever they want from you because you cannot prove it; If your stuff ever arrives, they will extort you for more money before delivery - call the police immediately. Their insurance is a joke and just another way to burglarize you twice.

These fraudsters will make you sorry you ever learned to dial a phone. Use a reputable company and save yourself some very painful grief. I had the misfortune of dealing with the Montreal unit of these scum (Yeah you, Jeff Crawford. Dork!). It seems to be the same for all their franchises.

A Great Move, Exceptional Service, From Two Small Men with Big Hearts Moving.

In June of 2007, my company transferred me from Vancouver BC, to Toronto Ontario. I had several moving companies visit my 6000 square foot home. The salesman from Two Small Men with Big Hearts Moving was by far the most professional. He took a great deal of time to go thru the house to estimate the weight, and the estimated cost of packing. The rate he provided was competitive, and was presented to me in a clear and concise format.

After receiving the quotations from all the other movers, we asked a few of them to visit us again as we had some questions, and concerns, none of the larger companies agreed to visit our home. The representative from Two Small Men with Big Hearts came the next day and spent over two hours with my wife, and myself answering our questions.

As my company had only agreed to a pay a certain amount for the relocation we were going to have to pay approximately $5000.00 of our own money in order to move all our possessions. We were about to pay the money out off our own pocket, when we received a call from the salesman from Two Small Men with Big Hearts. He had taken the insinuative to make some phone calls on our behave, and arranged for a trucking company to move my collection of books, which greatly reduced the cost of our move, and as I found out later greatly reducing his sales commission.

On the day prior to the move, the packing crew arrived to pack our house at 8.00A.M.

At 9.00 AM the salesman came to our house to see how thing were progessing, he brought breakfast for my family, and the packing crew, he also returned at the end of the day to check up on things and help pack.

The following day a forty foot moving truck was waiting outside our door when we woke up, the crew took a great deal of time to pack and inventory our belongings, once again the salesman attended our residence to assist us. Our goods were scheduled to arrive in 7-14 business days, as we were flying to Toronto and did not know anybody there the salesman suggested some places for us to stay, during the period of time our goods were in transit he touched base with us several times to update us on the progress of our shipment.

Our goods arrived early (in ten business days), the crew that unloaded and unpacked our goods did so in a careful, and professional manner. Once again the salesman phoned the following day to see how thing went.

In closing we found Two Small Men with Big Hearts to be very professional and careful in the transport of our goods, and the personnel attention we received was above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend them.

They are a bunch of crooks. They have no ethics at all. They dare people to bring them to court. You buy insurance, from them, to protect things you worked hard to get. They destroy your things and give you the runaround, if you can get them on the phone, when you try to get your money back.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYBODY USE THEIR SERVICES!!!!!!

I hired this horrible company to move my family from Winnipeg to Newfoundland. They were 30 days late delivering. They lost a couple of my boxes, they damaged my husbands motocycle and if that was now enough, then they overcharged me $2300. I phoned the office every day for 2 months. Then I took them to small claims and won. Now I need to find out where they bank so I can servre the garnishment order and get my money. If anyone can help me find out this info, please let me know. I would not recommend this company if they were the last people on earth. This whole experience has been an awful ordeal.

I just had Two Small Men with Big Hearts move me from Barrie to Niagara Falls, Ontario. The three men that moved me were friendly, fun, and hard working. They turned a what could have been a very stressful day into a pleasant experience. I would recommend these guys to anyone who is moving. They were actually recommended to me by a neighbour who had Two Small Men move them from Barrie to Toronto. Thanks, guys! You really do have Big Hearts!

This is the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. I am a disabled woman, and was forced to use them after not being able to find anyone else to move me from one apartment to another here in Kingston. Because I had started a new job not too long before, I couldn't take time off to pack my things prior to the move, and so attempted to do it without help on my days off work. These guys refused to take a lot of stuff, including a whole bedroom full of furniture, all my linens, a set of luggage, etc. And nearly two months later, I still cannot find my winter coat, most of my silverware and utensils, and many more other things that I need. The owner was really a piece of work, and took visible pleasure in my not having anyone to help me move, telling me that he hoped I would be able to pay for the move since I didn't have any friends available to help. His rationale for leaving many of my belongings behind was that since my cats had peed on the floor (they were upset about the move), his guys wouldn't move the bedroom furniture in the room where they had peed. I don't earn a lot of money, or have a lot of time, and these guys took full advantage of my situation. I wonder who got my silverware (which was a present from my mother, now deceased), the brand new mattress, etc. Several large rubbermaid containers full of stuff went into their truck but did not make it into my new place. If I can help spread the word about this disreputable and rotten company, I will. They charged me $1400 for all this, too, which was way too much to move a two-bedroom (oh, make that one bedroom -- they wouldn't move the other!) apartment from one end of the city to the other.

Very bad company. Nothing but a big headache dealing with these guys they called saying "their truck broke down" and that the move would have to wait another day. The people that did show up looked liked, and probably were ex-convicts. Move was fairely quick nothing was damaged by the looks of it but, I had an x-box 360 that was "lost" in the move and by the looks of it, it probably wasn't lost at all. We called the company the same day the move took place to ask about the missing box and the only explanation they could give was "Yeah, it's not in the truck," or some mumbo jumbo like that. I'm pretty cheesed about loosing my stuff I would take some legal action but I don't think im old enough to (just turned 17). If anyone is doing anything about like a partition please e-mail me at air_jimi@hotmail.com or if you have to be of legal age my mom would be more than happy to help.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! At all costs, if you have given them a deposit get it back and run like hell. They picked up my long-distance move Aug 22, 4 hours late. The movers apeared to be high, and they moved slower than molases, and our landlord reported seeing them damage our property during loading (it was a highrise). They also reportedly stole paint from the appartments backroom.

We were told Sept 5 at the latest. Repeated phone calls and messages left result in nothing. The bimbo receptionist 'doesn't know' if they have a head office or boss. When we did get someone randomly on the phone all we got were lies, 'they be here x day' this would obviously pass without result. As of today September 30, 2007 we have not recieved our property, 40 days after pickup. We have begun the process of filing with the BBB, we have also been instructed to speak with our insurance company.

They have our whole lives on that truck, nearly everything my boyfriend and I have accumulated in our lifetimes. Degrees, cloths, pictures, furiture, electronics, books, kitchenware (including heirloom items), school-research work, etc etc. My blood is boiling I am so furious with the way I have been treated and the fact they have stolen my proptery as far as I am concerned. This will not pass, I am determined to ensure that the public is aware of this.

How in the hell have they won "Consumer Choice" awards? They need to be removed from this list as well.

If anyone has any suggestions please reach me (Sara) at stomlin2@uwo.ca.

NEVER EVER DEAL WITH THESE GUYS!!!
I contracted for a move on June 30, 2007 and gave a deposit of $1,000.00 on Oct 27, 2006.

I cancelled six weeks before the move because they refused to return my phone calls.

They continue to refuse to refund my deposit.

If you have an outstanding claim against them, email me at sysil@telus.net. If we can get enough complaints together maybe we can see that these guys get what they deserve.

These guys are the worst! Customer service is non-existant. Sexual comments made from the movers to friends helping unpack the truck. Driver insisting we pay him cash. Breaking a leg from a very expensive chair. All of this was nothing compared to the attitude I got from the Toronto office when I called about a damage claim. All I wanted was someone to explain the process and NO ONW would speak to me or return my calls. When I finally got through to someone to ask a couple of questions about the claim process he yelled at me that they had already explained it to me. When I tried to explain that he must have been thinking of someone else he told me to "shut the hell up!" and hung up on me. Unreal! No concept of customer service what-so-ever. I have tried calling someone higher up. Sent multiple e-mails. I even tried to get in touch with their president Jeff Green and no one has responded. Stay very very far away from this compnay!

This is the letter I sent but as of today, still have not had a response back.

My wife just contacted the 1-866-669-4007 number (which is the number and contact used made my moving day August 14, 2007 reservations) and asked the person who answered the phone to please give her the number for head office. He said he didnt know the number to which she said that she didnt believe that. He then said that she was calling him a liar and to go to hell and he hung up on her. She did look it up on the web site, which is something this person should have done. This person by the way would not give his name to my wife. This is from a company that prides itself for winning Consumers Choice Awards year after year.

This morning, I spoke to a person from your company regarding stolen merchandise from our move on August 14th, which was reported on August 15th and to which we only got a call back today. We had 4 boxes stolen. Three boxes contained liquor and one box contained bar equipment and the 3 boxes were LCBO boxes. These boxes were definitely marked bar and were definitely removed from our house by the movers without a comment from them that they did not take alcohol. Before leaving the house, we did a walk-around to check that all boxes and furniture, etc. was removed. The house was empty except for 1 box of wine bottles on the kitchen counter which was going to the garage for garbage. The liquor amounted to over $500.00, as we had many 40 oz bottles in the boxes, along with ice wine, etc. They left our house and went to lunch for one hour. I was at the condo before they arrived back from their lunch, which they deny. The security guard at the condo will be able to confirm this time, as would a friend who was with me.

This fellow does not believe that his 3 men stole our property I wanted to call your office, but my wife asked me not to do that as the fellow would be fired. Of course, that would have been the smart thing to do and we would never have had this problem. The person I spoke to this morning also hung up on me after he said they were not going to do anything about it and that was that. It makes us very suspicious that hes in on the theft. These movers were very crafty, as they nikked and scratched a great deal of my furniture, but was certain to have us sign the waiver of existing scratches while half way through the move, before we even had a chance to inspect our furniture, and they already removed the ramp when signing off that the trunk was empty, not giving me a chance to see if anything was hidden behind the curtains. Although, Im certain they would have gotten rid of the boxes during their lunch hour.

You can be sure that if we dont receive satisfactory compensation for the stolen products, we will be reporting this to the police and posting negative reports on the web sites as well as local papers. . Ive copied the Consumers Choice Awards office. My husband also belongs to a Business Club and it will be announced that your company is not reputable nor are its drivers. You have not heard the last of this. WE HAVE BEEN ROBBED !!!! What other people have they robbed and will rob in the future. Its disgusting that we get robbed without so much as these 3 guys being reprimanded from the company they work for. This in itself, speaks clearly about your company.

We had 4 boxes stolen on moving day.

I would hope that your company is as professional as your web site claims to be and that we receive a call back from a Manager before we take more action.
As of August 22nd I still have not heard back from Richard at the company. This is the name and email address given to me by the person who answered the phone. We moved on August 14th.

My 85 year old mother contacted the Two Small Men company in Richmond to move her between Richmond and Abbotsford. The woman who gave her the explanation was very hazy as to details and particularly the total price, so my mother asked me to phone back to clarify things. When I did so, I got what had to be the rudest and most combative person I have run into in many a moon. Everything I said to her she took as a personal insult and told me that all this information had been patiently exaplained to my mother beforehand and why did I need to know it again as she was busy. I asked firstly why someone was not coming to give an exact estimate as to total cost and this representative (who claimed that she was an owner!!) said they never do estimates for local moves and neither does "anyone else" . When I told her that her telephone manner could use improvement she said I had been aggressive to her from the start which was untrue. If Two Small Men move they way they speak to potential customers, I would say AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! I think the company at least in Richmond should be renamed to Two Small Men with No Heart!

I was advised by another moving company to check out the better business bureau and this is what I found:
Based on BBB files, this company has a satisfactory record
BBB Definition:

satisfactory record - A business identified in our report as satisfactory has, based on Bureau files, been in business for at least one year, and has voluntarily provided the Bureau with all information requested about the business and its product or service. If any complaints have been received about the business, their number has not been considered by the BBB to be extreme, given the nature of the company's business and the volume of business transacted. Complaints are also generally typical of what might be expected for this type of business. A business stated to be satisfactory has not been the subject of any recent law enforcement actions concerning its dealings with the public. If the business has been contacted by the BBB about its advertising or selling claims, it has modified or substantiated its practices to the Bureau's satisfaction. In addition, the BBB has a clear understanding of the company's business, and the business is not in an industry which has raised significant marketplace concerns.

The company does not have an unusual volume of complaints, or any government actions involving its marketplace conduct. The Bureau understands and has no concerns about the company's products, services and type of business.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

The Bureau processed a total of 1 complaint about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. Of the total of 1 complaint closed in 36 months, 1 was closed in the last year

Basically they have no issues with them!!! I'm just glad I found this website before I listened to the BBB and made a huge mistake. Thanks everyone.
