 | myspace-30849171 (1) 05/06/2008 | There are all kinds of "intelligence" and their all important to me. You don't have to be a book nerd, but you have to have some kind of brain power (common sense, emotional intelligence, something!). I really can't stand stupid people

 | tvtator (5) 11/18/2003 | I don't want my friends to be a bunch of idiots nor would a bunch of Einsteins impress me either. Intelligence isn't really important or unimportant.

 | kamylienne (77) 06/05/2003 | Intelligence is a very important trait for me, and I like having intellectually stimulating conversation, but for a friend, they don't have to have a Ph.D. to be my friend. Having friends at various different "intelligence" levels (be it from an age gap, education gap, or even learning disability/superintelligence (i.e. "kid genious" types) is enriching. Yes, I tend to hang out with people of a similar intelligence level, but I won't refrain from hanging out with someone just because they are different.

 | Vudija (92) 05/04/2003 | To tell you the truth, I am not the most intelligent person that I know, but I believe that I am smart enough for my age. My friends tend to be at least as smart as I am, but I wouldn't shut someone out just because they weren't as smart as me. If they can keep up...good for them, but if they can't then I am willing to explain. I am not an impatient person, I can teach if I have to. I actually do have a few friends that don't get me, and if they are interested, then I will explain it to them...it's no big deal. Intelligence is ok, but I would rather have a friend that is honest, trustworthy, humorous, nice, and confident.

 | Redoedo (39) 03/09/2003 | Not very important in my opinion. This all depends on your particular interests. If you think that you are a know it all who can only talk to someone who also was validictorian of their class, then this is probably an important factor. I love to talk politics, but I also like sports, movies, video games and music, just to name a few. I love having friends who know a lot about politics, but also friends who enjoy sports and music who are not necessarily the sharpest knives in the drawer. So it all simply depends on your interests as to whether you want intellegent friends or not.

 | mrkpz (0) 03/06/2003 | Most people define this wrongly as general knowlage or wisdom. Intelligence is wit, problem solving ability, comprehension/understanding and creativity. I prefere a friend I can talk to with such abilities.

 | Molfan (57) 01/19/2003 | A 3.5 to me. IT would be nice to have someone who could sit and talk about different subjects. But I would not expect them to be brilliant. A nice person would be more important. Besides if someone were intelligent and also an arrogant creep would do nothing for me.Especially if they always acted impressed with themselves.

 | sjuhler (0) 01/18/2003 | I agree with Snoopy. Intelligence is not something that you can really help. And as for talking about politics and social issues and stuff, there are different types of topic interests that people can have. One person may know a lot about one thing, cars maybe, and another might know a lot about something else, literature, for example. People who aren't intelligent might still be pleasant to haveas long as they contain all the important elements of a friendship, like loyalty, honesty, patience, kindness etc.

 | lukskywlkr. (3) 11/14/2002 | To have someone walking around with you quoting Shakespeare would be quite unnecessary, but I do admit that I like to hang around people who can hold a decent conversation.

 | Janey_Lane (0) 02/18/2002 | A must! I love to talk about politics, social issues and such and if my friend isn't intellegent enough to understand what the hell I'm talking about then what's the point of talking to her? But at the same time I wouldn't want some besserwisser who knows everything about everyone and just looks at me pitifully when she's said something that I didn't understand. So intellegence is a virtue but there is such a thing as too smart.

 | ashleys (23) 12/09/2001 | I see intelligence as not being stupid. As opposed to what, right? I don't see it as being the valedictorain of a class or knowing everything there is to know. I find it easier to be friends with someone who understands what I'm talking about, someone who is intelligent. I do have some friends who get confused by some pretty simple concepts, and they are less enjoyable than those who don't. But they're still a friend.

 | Snoopy (3) 12/08/2001 | Intelligence isn't important to me at all. I'd rather have a friend who is kind, fun-loving, and loyal than a friend who made class valedictorian any day.
