This is one of my favorite craft books ever. Betz White's designs are simple, whimsical, pretty and practical! In a word, Delicious. I love reading craft books for ideas but I never actually use the patterns given. I prefer to use them for inspiration for my own designs. This book is the FIRST one that I've ever sat down and actually made exactly what was in this book. The projects are just so appealing that you want to make 10 of everything. I also love the fact that she advocates recycling old sweaters, which is inexpensive and eco-friendly. I know some people have had trouble finding sweaters to use, but I'm lucky to live in a cold weather state where the thrift stores abound with wool sweaters 9 months of the year. My best tip is to shop in the men's department. Their sweaters are larger and therefore yield more fabric per sweater. Women's sweaters often have more interesting details but usually provide much smaller pieces of fabric. OK if you're making a pincushion, but bad for making a blanket. One other tip: When you wash the sweaters in your washing machine, don't take chances. Some of them shed a LOT. Put your sweaters in a zippered pillow protector. If you don't have one, you can easily sew one - it's simply a retangular fabric bag with a zipper on one end. It keeps the fuzz in and protects your washing machine from getting clogged up with wool. I can't recommend this book highly enough! Can't wait to get my hands on her next book.

I really love this author and felter. She has a really cool blog that I regularly check out. And also another book on the way. I have made many of her projects and find them to be quick, inexpensive, and great gifts. If you like handmade gifts that are cutesy, this is your book. And its up-sycling.

As a new sewer the step by step directions with helpful photos in this book allowed me to sew very cool pillbox hats. I have fun finding sweaters and blankets to felt and sew. I've made several hats and a pair of mittens. It is satisfying to make treasures from trash. This is a fun book.

Every project in this book is so cute or so pretty you want to make them all. The instructions are simple and concise, and combined with using super-cheap recycled materials makes these creations perfect.

The cover gives you a good idea of what is inside the book-the cupcakes and ice cream cone tape measure are the cutest! Lot of neat projects inside but my only complaint is that you need old sweater for these and I hardly hav any :(
