 | PzKpfw VI E (28) 06/08/2006 | Is there any doubt who the favourites really are?
There really is nothing more to say about them. They have so much talent, and so much experience. The defense is not nearly as good as the offense capabilities, but they have never really been known for their defense.
Cafu and Roberto Carlos are solid, and Lúcio isn't that bad, but they aren't as solid at defense as a time like England. They are getting too old at defense as well, with both Carlos and Cafu closing in on retirement. The biggest holes in the Brazilian team is at defense, but their offense is good enough to compensate.
In the midfield, Zé Roberto, Gilberto, Juninho, Kaka and Emerson (probably on the bench) consist of the most impressive midfiled in the tournament. Oh, plus, they have this little known player named Ronaldinho; I wonder how much he'll play.
Any team that has a midfield so good that Juninho or Gilberto has to be on the bench is so scary.
With Kaka's leadership, Ze Roberto's experience and Ronaldinho's talent, Brazil's offensive capability is unmatched.
Plus, their strikers add even more depth. Ronaldo, probably the best striker in the world next to players like Henry, Shevshenko and Rooney, and Adriano combine to form one of the best striker combinations in the world. Plus, Robinho, one of the best young talents in the world, is ready on the bench.
It is pure insanity how good Brazil is. They are the favourites, and the only team that deserves the five star rating.

 | hotel283 (20) 10/27/2005 | Soccer is king in many countries, in Brazil it is god. I saw a great documentary once that said the only thing preventing Brazil from winning every World Cup is Brazil itself. If they could have the cohesion of the Germans or the Dutch the rest of the world wold be in trouble.

 | amasarweh (0) 09/18/2005 | The Greatest Team now ever , with the magic or Ronaldo ronaldinho adriano and Robinho in the front they are unstoppable.. They will get their sixth title in 2006 and no team will stop them , or no team CAN stop them.. They are simply the best ever !

 | levineto (0) 09/12/2005 | Perhaps the best soccer team ever assembled!
Only the brazilian squad can deny itself from still another world title.
The brazilian 2005 offense is the strongest offensive power ever imagined. Creativity, Speed, Flair and power!
Brazil has just won the Confederations Cup with its reserve team. Well, everyone knows that the brazilian defense is not the best in the world but with an offense composed of Kaka, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Robinho, Adriano and Ronaldo, that are some who believe that it's going to be hard for any other national team to even cross the mid-line.

 | termination_13 (0) 12/13/2004 | well it looks as though she did convince you to care, assuming 5 people did not find your comment helpful, and im glad you say good for Poland, but the year was actually 1974, and not 1972, dont get your years mixed up

 | Guava Monkey (4) 03/25/2004 | The 2002 Brazil world cup side were good but only occasionally showed glimpses of the greatness expected of them. Still not a patch on the 1970s line-up. Also dont think there are any individuals as classy as the likes of Socrates, Junior and Zico.

 | OrwellAn (1) 01/08/2004 | Ahhhh...the three 'Rs' Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Ronaldo. Or should that be wreeling writhing and orrrfodontiks. But anyway, the were by far the best team in the World Cup. I still can't believe that cheeky goal Ronaldinho scored from a free kick against England though!!!

 | magellan (177) 06/13/2002 | Brazil still has it. In watching them annihilate a tough Costa Rica squad last night, it's plain to see that the magic is still there. I don't know what it is, but it's just more fun to watch Brasil than any other team.

 | marky mark (0) 12/13/2001 | brazil in these days has a team spirit problem. too many players were involved in the qualification round, as well as too many coaches had to quit since the last two years. in total the team only gets an o.k. rating from me.
