The airport is very large; in fact it’s one of the top 5 largest airports in the country. If you travel through O’Hare during the winter, expect delays of, on average, one to two hours. Service at the airport is average. Unlike other larger airports, there are no moving sidewalks, so expect to walk a while to get to your gate. Overall, a very decent airport.

Getting to it is a bitch, but the airport itself is fine, efficient and with decent amenities.

Big airport but they seem to do a good job. Because of the winters there, you can have delays but as others have mentioned, they never really shut down.

this is my first time connecting at this airport,I'm trying to get home for the Holidays, and weather problems have stranded alot of people tonight, but I have to say it's easy to get around in for it's massive size. and thank goodness they have restaurants open all night.

I have been here scores of times and I am always impressed how efficiently the traffic, airplanes and people move along. This is a big place! I was there in 1963 just before Mayor Daley and President Kennedy dedicated the new airport. Chicago always runs efficiently and that deal was efficient also.

I've flown thru O'Hare over 50 times in the last few years. I't's the simpliest and easiest airport for it's size to connect thru. I've heard friends of mine bash their experiences at ORD but i've been spared.

I really don't enjoy any airports but this one has plenty of shops and food places (especially those great Chicago hot dogs, that can be a consolation if you are delayed)

It's a huge airport, yet it's never hard to find your gate, and the layout is such that you can really get from one end of the airport to the other fairly quickly. There are also plenty of places to get something to eat or buy a book or magazine, so once you find where you need to be you to don't have to venture very far to find conveniences. The pure size of the airport can make security a hassle if you are flying out of O'Hare, but I usually connect through it, so it's not really that much of an issue for me.

I guess it's OK considering how huge and busy it is.I didn't have the best experience there, but it could have been worse. With all the new complications, all airports have their hands full nowdays.

Has lots of modern appeal, but doesn't forgive the numerous flights I've had cancelled, delayed, or moved there.

I was a bit nervous about having to connect here as it is so huge. However the place was well staffed and there were people directing you where to go to catch your next flight as soon as you disembarked. I found my connection no problem. There's also lots of places to kill time there, and the prices aren't too bad by airport standards.

First thing that comes to my mind about this airport...BIG! Wow. When I flew into this airport it was amazing how many people and planes were there. The shops were nice, I wish there would have been more variety though. I enjoyed the restaurants at the airport. I remember thinking that the bathrooms inside the airport were a little gross. The biggest thing I remember about this airport was how long it took for my plane to get off the runway. There was a line of planes and I was sitting in the plane waiting to take off for 45 minutes. This was in the summer and of course one of the busier times of the year, but it was crazy!

I've only been to this airport one time. I wasn't overly impressed but I was able to connect my flight and landed at my destination without a tragic event; this is always a GOOD THING!

A remarkably well organized airport. Easy to get into and out of - the L train runs from here to downtown in about thirty minutes for $1.75. The United terminal has one of the prettiest moving walkways around, with neon lights shining above. Lots of good food. The biggest problem at O'Hare is that it is prone to delays, because it's such a major transit hub. Fortunately, if you do have a layover here, there are actually things to see and do in the meantime.
abichara 11/28/2004
Very well organized. Of course, O'Hare is a major hub for American, United and other big companies, so the place is bound to get crowded with transiting passengers. If I need to take a connection, I try to avoid Chicago as the stopping point, for it's usually delay-prone, either because of high-traffic or the weather, which isn't the best in the area many times

A neat airport, but VERY delay prone!

Been there many times and it certainly is big and serves all but the discount flights. Fine attractive atmosphere and archetecture, but I would like terminal M (international) to be much closer so it will be easier to go from domestic arrivals to international departures. However it's easily accesible to CTA Train, and I'm pleased as it is a hub for the airlines I trust.

Like Detroit - not very attractive but certainly functional. Lots of walking.

I had to go through O'Hare while making a flight to Iowa a few years ago. I was really surprised at how nice a place it was compared with some big city airports. It seemed cleaner and (if this makes any sense) more peaceful.

I have nothing but good things to say about this airport. It's the largest in the world, but I found it really efficient, clean and stress free. LAX needs to send some delegates to learn how to get their act together!
Tsukiakiko 03/25/2003
The wait to check in can be ungodly!
CanadaSucks 02/11/2003
Went through this airport several times and never had a bad experience. . .it's very clean. NICE CUSTOMS OFFICIALS! L.A.X. customs is awful but the Chicago customs officials were some of the nicest I've ever met. Although the airport is huge, I've never had a hard time finding anything. Probably one of my favorite airports in America.
