I love to travel! Never had problems while traveling from SFO. Another great thing is that you can take BART to get there - save on gas, toll, parking, and most important - avoid traffic jam!

Airport layout is perfect. Not overwhelmingly large but has everything larger airports have. Very easy to navigate your way around. Restaurants and shops available before security. Long term parking can be expensive $14-$20 a day but off site parking is easily available. BART and numerous free shuttles come in and out of the airport on regular intervals. There is a nice USO center for military and service connected veterans.

Overall, I love SFO compared to OAK. Its a bit more intimate, and just the right size ;) I have had only one issue with luggage getting lost (which they dropped off to me 8 hours later), but that was bound to happen someday, as i've traveled so much (plus i was coming from a lay-over due to weather). Anywho, i enjoy this airport cause it always seems to run smooth, especially if you fly virgin america or jet blue....next to review.

The international terminal is amazing. I wish I lived there. The architecture is awesome, and there are huge open spaces. Several of San Francisco's best restaurants have satellite stations there. The domestic terminal is pretty pedestrian, but the layout isn't too bad. And with subway access and just a 15 minute car trip to the city, I think SF does better than most in terms of airports.

Accessible by BART. Pretty easy to get through. I've not had many issues here.

One of the most beautiful airports around, but also a bit confusing for auto traffic: there are different roads for the domestic and international terminals, which wouldn't be so much of a problem if the terminals actually did what they say. But all JetBlue flights, for example, leave out of the international terminal, without any signs that would help you figure this out. This fact almost caused my driver to lose his sanity and me to miss my flight. Of course, if I'd taken BART, I wouldn't have had this confusion.

the fully automated sky train is AMAZING. most beautiful thing ever. and the recorded voice says something (i forget what) that rhymes, but not on purpose. does anyone know what she says???

Great airport. Now that you can take Bart directly to catch you flight I find it much easier to navigate. The BART line leaves you right in the International Terminal. Great design, can't wait until their done with all the renovations.

The domestic terminal could use a facelift.

SFO is a decent airport. The international terminal is bright and open, and is much newer and nicer than the domestic terminals. The capacity of SFO is quite small compared to the population that it serves, but they are not permitted to expand farther into the Bay for environmental reasons.

I've been to SFO many times and it is unremarkable either way. The subway terminal is nice, but others have it also.

This is true, bear with me. You know, at airports, certain minorities dominate the workforce inside. At LAX and Miami, the Hispanics make up the majority of workers. At Detroit and New Orleans airport, blacks make up the majority of workers. Only at the San Fran airport did I find the majority of workers were Asian. Odd, but fun fact.

With all the new shops/restaurants, spacious gate areas, new int'l terminal and BART access right into the terminal (one of only about 5 U.S. airports with that kind of access) SFO is looking pretty good these days.

It's clean and pretty as far as airports go and, I just plain like it. But...could it be more efficient? You may need to take the AirTrain and need to take at least 2 elevators and still have a bit of walking to do. I think it could be a nightmare if you have a connecting flight to catch.

A neat airport, especially since they have redone everything. However, watch for delays as they happen frequently...regardless of airline!

Of course the problem here is the fog, but no biggie since there are many sunny days in the airport. This one now with the BART and the AirTrain is the most efficient to go to and from and around the airport. The food there is healthy and great, most of the the big name airlines are there and it is almost always much cheaper to fly to and from there than going to Oakland or San Jose. It will be difficult to explore the terminals since they have them not interconnected, but even though, this circular place with their new, acessible, state-of-the-art international terminal is one of a kind for on time travel.
