Coming from Denver the airport reminds me of the Sydney Opera house with those huge White billowy things. The airport itself is a good stretch from the city and is located far from any populace (good for the residents of Denver and its suburbs, inconvenient for travelers.) The airport is served by DTA (Skyride) from the Downtown Denver Station for a nominal fee, $8. The airport seems larger than it needs to be but overall easily navigable if you can follow the signs to where you need to go. Restaurants are available before security. The terminals are connected by a sub-rail system.

The airport itself is fine. But I don't really understand why its located in Omaha, Nebraska if its supposed to serve Denver.

Was this the airport in which Tom Hanks got trapped in The Terminal? Because it feels like every time I fly through Denver (admittedly in wintertime), I get stuck there for hours and hours. It's not just the delays, it's the utter desolation of this remote place. Even though it's a massive place, it's best not to venture forth from your terminal into one of the other two -- you'll get lost and, with my luck, miss your flight. Very depressing.

UPDATE: AARGH! Since I posted the original commment, I have been to Denver several times. It isn't bad going through, but try to get to Denver. This place is really in the middle of nowhere.ORIGINAL COMMENT: I used to get to Stapleton a lot, but I avoid this new airport like the plague from all the reports that I get. I have been fortunate. I have not had to go to Denver since Stapleton closed.

Located on a prairie, easy connection for the most part, drawbacks are it takes another hour or so to actually get to denver.due to the high landing fees charged by the airport it is slowly going bankrupt and losing service little by little.

Not a great Airport and not very well located but a OK airport. It takes like ages to get there from Denver and if you don't know your way, you will definitely get lost!!!! I do like the inside and I would say it is not as cluttered as many other airports!!! The staff is usually helpful and very pleasant! It's my home airport and I have to live with it, one thing is for sure I know it is alot better than HEATHROW,UK.

I've never had a problem at this airport. Easy to get around and navigate.

Out in the cornfields of Aurora about thirty minutes from downtown. It's big, and pretty as far as airports go. Maybe a bit confusing because there is a train system that brings you to the terminals and baggage claim but nothing to make you pull your hair out.

I guess it's come a long way since its days as a late-night TV show joke. . .it was clean, efficient, and easy to get around. . .the coolest thing was seeing the giant carousel where all the skis are picked up. . .Two drawbacks (1) it's a little further from downtown than I'd like (might be an unfair critique) and (2) It's really damn ugly once you get far away. . .

This airport seems to be run well and nicely maintained.

This is the nicest airport I've seen. It's big enough to serve Tokyo. It's big and spacious and doesn't ever feel too crowded. It's clean, modern and has good ammenities. My only complaint is it's way out of town but I suppose thats how they built such a huge facility with so much runway space

A very pretty and modern airport - one of the most recent built. There are lots of shops and restaurants, and several bookstores. The train system that goes to each concourse is confusing. The biggest knock against DIA, though, is probably how ridiculously far from downtown Denver it is. When you land, all you can see in every direction is corn and wheat fields. The city is miles and miles away, about a $40 taxi ride.

A very good layout. It is easy to find the airline you need and the gate.

I have never had a problem with the airport itself! It is very well maintained and is the easiest connecting airport in the country!

A folly. A boondoogle. A complete waste of money. And as inconvenient as any depot in the world. Abnormally distant from town and access highways. Simply a collection of stupid and vain ideas that flunk every municipal std. All concerned should be jailed.

Beautiful airport on the outside. Extremely confusing to navigate on the inside. Security is a little lacking, so be prepared to wait up to an hour sometimes. The subways are little confusing, and they hardly give you an opportunity to walk out the door to find your gate. At a stop, I once got smashed by a closing door, because I didn't sprint out of the door fast enough....beware senior citizens or disabled persons. You might keep riding the subway back and forth because it is almost impossible to get off the thing. Oh...one more thing....they practically strip search you here, so be prepared to be wearing a bathing suit and sandals when you go thru security. Every guy had to take off several pieces of clothing and their shoes to get through security....and they give you nothing to sit on when you need to get dressed in a hurry to catch your flight.

Plan on a long drive to get to the airport - it's out in the middle of nowhere. If you are returning a rental, there will be a bit of a shuttle ride as they are also located a ways off from the actual airport terminal.

Only bad thing you can say about DIA (now that the baggage and train problems are behind them) is that travel time from the Denver metro area is a bit excessive.
