Great academics, location with access to everything the Twin Cities have to offer, and an interesting, varied, opiniated campus population. Well respected by all who know it. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Q: How many Mac students does it take to screw in a light bulb? A: Eight. One to replace the bulb, seven to claim they did it just as well as they would at Carleton.

That place in just way too small. I can't imagine living there for four years. I'm trying to get away from high school attitudes, but that'd be hard to do in a place smaller than my high school!

Macalester has it all: 5-star academics, a progressive and eclectic community, a phenomenal Twin Cities locale, great grad school placement and a beautiful compact campus. I wouldn't trade my experience at good ol' Mac for anything. I wish I could do it over again.
