If you count flowers as gardening equipment... heh.  If it's her hobby, enjoyment, then yes.  No to lawnmower if she winces every time you suggest she does the front lawn.

If the lady is an avid gardner,this may be just the thing.

Gardening equipment would only be okay if the person you are buying it for really LOVES to garden and it is a hobby of theirs. Otherwise it is kind of an insult gift that would be implying that she should go out in the yard and do some gardening. My husband on the ohter hand would be thrilled to get garden stuff since HE is the one who loves gardening. As for me, I would not be thrilled with garden eqiupment.

It depends on wthether or not the person likes to garden. I personally don't.
