It would probably be best to give a gift certificate to a shoe store so someone could pick out their own shoes. It would be important to try them on to see if they fit well since every pair of shoes are different. Not to mention, we all have our own tastes in style.

Not a good gift, women like men can buy their own shoes.

okay...maybe not the shoes..literally...but a gift certificate from a shoe store ...YES! I'd take it any day! You don't necessarily have to buy shoes, as most shoe stores have nice accessories :) but 9 times out of 10, if I enter a shoe store to purchase a handbag, I also end up leaving with at least one pair of shoes. :)

Like many women, I love shoes (hey, it’s one of the few things that doesn’t usually change size as you gain or lose weight). But, I am extremely picky when it comes to the way they feel, look and fit. I don’t know a soul on this planet who could successfully pick out a pair of shoes for me. It’s just something I have to test drive (in the store of course) before I buy.

Terrible idea. Because women's shoes vary so much, they are a very risky gift. I usually try on at least 15 to 20 pairs of shoes before finding one that fits, and I'm already narrowing down the field quite a bit before giving them a shot. The only type of footwear that might be acceptable as a gift is a pair of slippers, although that's still questionable. I just tried on six or seven pairs of slippers, and they were all different. I only found one pair that felt comfortable. If you must buy footwear as a gift, at least make sure it's returnable.

No, no, no, no. Bad idea. Women and their footwear are not anyone elses business. Many women lie about their shoesize so that could create problems plus even if the size is right they might not like the type or color. And don't forget the possiblillity of chafed feet. So buying women shoes is not really recommended.
