Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour 2

Just a slight improvement over that crappy and unfunny I Love Lucy. Lucille Ball was so obnoxious and unappealing that I just wanted to vomit every time she appeared on screen. Desi was much more watchable, charming and talented.

Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour 5

Hour-long I Love Lucy episodes with classic movie and television stars of the period? I'll take it! These 13 episodes (currently airing on TV Land) are all great examples of good-natured, hilarious, well-acted comedy. The entire cast from ILL works great together and the high-caliber guest stars (from Milton Berle to Ernie Covacs) mesh well with the cast. The sets are great, the writing superb and it picks off where the last I Love Lucy episode left off. Highly recommended!

Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour 5

"The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour", is a classic hour-long sitcom that shows us more talents that of Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley. It is extremely funny and probably just as good (if not more) as any sitcom. Only thirteen episodes were produced of the show which it lasted three seasons (1957-1960). Within those "classic thirteen", the show brings us more laughs than ever before and features other talented and gifted comedians such as Milton Berle, Red Skeleton, Danny Thomas, Ernie and Edie Kovacs, Ann Sothern, Tallulah Bankhead, Ida Lupido and Howard Duff, Fred MacMurray among others. The show is quite a sight to see because it is like going on vacation due to the numerous trips the Ricardos and Mertzes went on. From Cuba to Las Vegas to Sun Valley to Mexico to Alaska to a Cabin in Vermont and finally to Japan. No wonder why this show is very entertaining.

Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour 4

The first few of these comedy hours were a bit weak and didn't have that touch that I Love Lucy had, but it aged nicely and came off as a hilariously funny classic by the end.

The show that is responsible for I Love Lucy, of course I am going to rate it high.

I think the first special with Lucy and Susie McNamera in Havanna is an underrated classic, and I feel almost as strongly about the one guest starring Paul Douglas from 1959. But the majority of these specials were not filmed in front of a studio audience, and the old sparkle just is not there.

Not as good as I Love Lucy but way better than all the Lucy shows that came later.

This show that followed I Love Lucy in 13 episodes may have actually been better than the series. It had brilliant humor, but some episodes wern't as good as I Love Lucy classics.

Very well done...I especially liked the episode with Tallulah Bankhead. There are lots of good laughs, but underneath it all, I feel bad knowing that Lucy & Desi's marriage was coming to an end right about the time these good programs were being made.

Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour 3

This was the tale end of the escapades of Lucy, Desi, Ethel, and Fred - a last ditch effort to eek out a few more laughs with the Ricardos and Mertzs. It was also the end of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's real-life marriage and, sadly, it was easy to see. The show had run its course, the old spark was gone and it was time to call it a day. It may have been better to have done so before they thought of this sad ending to a great era.
