Paying bills is fast and easy, just gotta make sure to spot the little padlock somewhere in your browser. Without that indication of secure connectivity, you're just begging to have your information mined. Now this is not the end all and be all of the Internet. Besides, what do you think people do afterwards? :)

I love the internet for paying bills. I can pay like 99% of our bills online. Remember back a few years when you had to make sure you had enough envelopes, stamps and then had to sit down and write a check for each and every bill? What a timesaver to be able to pay bills in a few clicks!

The internet has many helpful uses, but paying bills online is not recommended.

This is one of the greatest and most productive utilities of an internet-linked computer. Having the combination of a credit union's no-fee checking, free online bill payment, and direct deposit is a valuable asset if you are concerned about missing bill payments or are discouraged by the chore of processing paper bill payments. Stamped envelopes, writing checks, relying on the postal service, tracking due dates---forget about it! All of my bill payments (credit cards, utilities, car payment, auto insurance, etc.) are consistently posted on the exact dates of my chosing--either programmed to do so automatically, or manually when I need to make an increased payment. I haven't missed a payment or been late in over five years of having this set up. Yet, no amount of hyping the benefits of paying bills online seems to convince many of those (friends/co-workers) entrenched in the old ways to cross over. I suspect over-exagerrated security issues are still the remaining cause. Peace out, homies!

I don't do this because I'm leary about sending my credit card over the internet even though I have purchased on Ebay on Amazon(go figure). However with identity theft problems, and mail get stolen who is to say which is safer to get your bills paid. The advantage is this would be quicker and would save a stamp.

Today's internet is very secure and makes it easy to pay bills online. I don't pay too many bills online, but I have bought alot of stuff online and I have never once had a problem with my account security.

This really is the dawning of the world. I love the fact that all I have to do is log on to my bank, click a couple buttons and my bank does the rest. I love this feature, but its not the main reason that I am on the computer

I pay my credit card bills through online services now, and man, is it helpful! It saves a lot of time, a little money (stamps and all), and a lot of worry (worrying about the check getting to the company on time is no longer a problem). As long as it's a trusted institution, it can be a very valuable and time-saving tool.

What a revelation online bill paying has been. By now, most of the major service providers (credit cards, phone companies, utility companies) are able to provide e-bills. Instead of dealing with the hassle of finding stamps, licking envelopes, and putting return addresses on your bills, you can pay everything with a click of a mouse. I used to be notorious about racking up late fees on credit card payments, but not anymore. With online bill paying it's a non factor. As far as banks with superior online capabilities, I would recommend Bank of America. It's simple to use, costs about $5,95 a month (which is more than paid for when you consider stamps, late fees, etc.), and allows you to receive e-bills, track your payments, and schedule automatic payments.
