 | CanadaSucks (45) 11/21/2007 | The other reviewer gets it right on the money. . .Boston was a talented band in terms of musical talent, but this was first-rate over-produced overblown 70's music by and large. . .

 | Limpin' Trenchfoot (16) 11/21/2007 | A shiny synthetic rock product dreamt up by marketing men and produced by backroom boffins. OK I'll give you 'More than a feeling' but the rest is souless and plastic

 | irishgit (138) 07/03/2007 | I've never been impressed. Corporate rock and roll, made popular because corporate DJs say its great.

 | FranksWildYears (48) 07/03/2007 | This is the sound of a band that was created in a boardroom and made its music in a laboratory. There is nothing rock and roll about it.

 | TheHappySinner666 (5) 06/13/2007 | A solid classic rock album from start to finish. Being from 1976, it may sound a bit dated today, but "peace of mind", and "Long Time" are simply great tunes, period, and I feel sorry for anyone who can't appreciate that fact.
Rest in peace Mr. Delp, and thank you.

 | garydavis9361 (3) 03/30/2007 | My brother had this album and I heard it a lot. You can hardly tell one song from the next without listening to the words.

 | Victor83 (35) 03/28/2007 | Somewhat overplayed even to this day, but this was a good album. These guys sort of exploded onto the scene, filling a gap between glam-rock and the harder edged stuff like Zepplin.

 | AndrewT (15) 03/23/2006 | Over-rated album with no heart and no soul. Technique and bombast do not make for a classic.

 | oscargamblesfro (76) 12/13/2005 | In terms of innovative production and new sounds, it was certainly notable. It's bland for the most part though. While I will admit that the overplayed "More Than A Feeling" was a very good song, I think that a good rule of thumb is to avoid bands named after states or countries, they tend to suck. EARLY Chicago was a good band, but they soon started to suck, and look at the rest of the corporate, lame acts named after geopolitical entities: Kansas, Asia, Europe, etc. YUCK!

 | Agany (0) 08/04/2004 | Such a big record! You must remember that we were in the 70's. Boston reveald a soft, singable type music that preceed a lot of things...

 | Guava Monkey (4) 04/30/2004 | I pretty much detest 99% of corporate AOR but there are 4 great tunes here 'More than a feeling' , 'Smokin', 'Peace of mind' and 'Foreplay/Long time'. The other 4 arent up to much but this still worth getting if you like big production rock anthems.

 | fwmorris (0) 01/04/2004 | Simply one of the greatest classic rock albums of all time. No collection should be without this. Rock anthems from the beginning to the end, it doesnt get much better.

 | VirileVagabond (32) 11/23/2003 | Released in 1976, Boston's self-title debut release suffers the same problem as all Boston releases, namely an overly uniform sound; however, in the case of Boston, that sound is extremely unique and has never been duplicated (though many hope no one ever tries). Nevertheless, Boston is most likely the pinnacle of 1970's arena rock. This debut release includes most of the band's signature songs (except Don't Look Back and Amanda) which means (of course) More Than A Feeling, Peace Of Mind, Long Time, and Hitch A Ride. The layered sounds of guitarist Tom Scholz and vocalist Brad Delp are instantly recognizable, and the lyrics are non-confrontational. While Boston is admittedly dated, it remains an immortal guilty pleasure.

 | DeathRattle (1) 08/05/2003 | There are very few albums that can be considered a solid rock album. Boston's 1st. album is one of those albums. Almost every song on this album has either been a radio hit or a billboard singles hit. John Stolz came up with some beautiful yet powerful guitar riffs. Some may have labeled this band as corporate rock. However, they were still able to create some of the greatest classic rock tunes of all times.

 | the transgressors (0) 04/30/2003 | boring, horrible corporate rock before it had the label. Good Lord, man, can;t they just stop it!!! Steely Dan too!
