My Honda Element is a 2003 and has 84000 miles and the cylinder just blew. They want $1300 to fix it. My warrantee just expired and I just bought out my lease and of course, what great timing for Honda, my car breaks down totally. These guys are blood-suckers.

Nobody should be rating this vehicle unless you own one. Just saying it's ugly is not an indepth rating. I bought one in 2003 and it has treated me well. I did alot of research before buying one. I wanted a new SUV, but I didnt want to spend 30K+. I wanted (needed)4 wheel drive. I wanted something good on gas and something that is reliable and will keep it's value. The Honda Element fit all my needs. Has anyone noticed that since the Element was introduced, more and more vehicles are resembling the "box" look. The windshield issue is no joke, though. I've been through 4 windshields and Honda didnt cover them. It's not the angle of the windshield, but the quality of the glass. My father has a 1974 Scout that has more of an upright windshield. He has never had a crack, and he's had rocks hit before. I hope Honda fixes this problem. The versitility of the Element is outstanding. Being able to flip, lye flat or remove the rear seats in seconds expands the rear area immensely. I've had people say, "This has more room than my full size Explorer." It's tiny on the outside, with "limousine" room on the inside. 160 hp is perfect. Not a powerhouse, but it'll get up and go. The AWD works great. I live on a hill and it's gone up in a foot of snow. It just plows right through, not even a little slip. At highway speeds, I hear the wind, but NOTHING compared to a Jeep. Now I'm ready to get a motorcycle w/ a trailer and head for the Cape.

Someone beat this excuse for an SUV with a *big* Ugly Stick prior to releasing the design to the fab guys.

I love my Element, all but its windshield which has cracked 3 times already. The first 2 cracks occured after I had a minor chip in the center of the windshild. The last crack happened to a perfectly, unchipped windshield. All 3 cracks came from under the seal. All 3 cracks were covered by my Honda dealership but they are telling me know that after 50,000 miles my warranty expires and this will be my problem. Looks like I'll be suing!

Nice, versatile, fun to drive vehicle. Beware however, a significant flaw in the design of the windshield which causes large cracks to develop spontaneously. My Element developed a BIG crack in the windshield while it was parked in my garage. Honda has refused to fix it so far. Bad form. Very disappointing and expensive. Do a google search under Honda Element Windshield before you buy this vehicle so that at least you will know what you are getting into.

This is the best small sports utility for the money. Especially for anyone who is truly using the vehicle for a sports utility. With the easy clean up seats and lack of carpet, I can pick up my son from mountain biking or a muddy day on the football field without any fear of messing up the interior. I am a little lady but I can easily lift the seats up to the windows and have hauled all sorts of things from furniture to a big barbeque. I love the view and the four wheel drive was a blast in Mexico. (We even put down the seats and slept in the thing with Hondas cool window curtain accessory). The only down sides to this amazing vehicle: while the leg room is amazing in the back seat, the ride is a bit bumpy. Also, the windshield seems to be a rock magnet. All in all, I would buy this vehicle again in a heart beat. Ugly yes, but I love it.

I like this vehicle. I like the looks but I dont rate vehicles by the looks. I rate them by the facts. Here, you get a reliable, enough power in a little SUV. Its only a four passenger, and the seats look terrible, but having the seats fold up over the window is great. Good cargo room.

I love this vehicle. I do agree you either love the look or hate it. It is such a practial vehicle. This is perfect for Moms, because it is easy in and out to the car seats with the trip door designs. It's not to big but big enough that you feel safe. It is avalible in 4wheel drive. It has great floors for easy clean up and you can add the carpets if you like. It has such a great view out the windows. Pefect for short drivers because the dash is flat no hump, and the seat raises. I am 4'11 and It fits me perfect and my husband is 6'3 and he has plenty of head room. Not a power house, but I dont need to go 100. The sunroof is really neat, it's huge and should be entertaining to the kids. Gas milage isn't to bad 21-24. The only thing I would probably change is make a third set in the back center in stead of the cup holders. I like to put the carseat in the center and extra passenger room would be a plus. This is the perfect vehicle for people who dare to be a little different. I love it and plan to buy one soon. Just wish they would add some rebates!

the car have good point and bad points..... bad----- it is Ugly. i were willing to buy an ugly car if it can deliver what i need, but it didnt. it is extremely weak. it is great for driving around town, terrible for out doors. and if you are driving around town why not get a passenger car and get great gas millage instead? rude salemens, just because this is a newly design vehicle the saleman got the balls to add a mark-up value on the msrp. that is such an insult. good----stereo, design (folding seat and all). easy to clean floor....if only it had more power this car would be the bomb. an ugly bomb but still "the bomb".
