Local Concerts 1

The Local Concerts application presented by iLike is a missed opportunity more than anything else.

iLike is a service that tracks what songs you listen to and allows you to mark bands and musicians as favorites. The site then displays local concerts in your area for these groups that you've "liked"

Great idea, right?

So the iPhone app should, in theory, behave similarly. Ticketmaster owns them now, so they certainly have resources.

Instead, it just displays a list of local concerts within an x mile radius, limited to 7 days from now, with no link to your iLike account. It allows you to see a list filtered by overall iLike artist popularity, but anyone with decent taste in music is going to be as irritated as I am by that view since it features the likes of Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers and (inexplicably) New Kids on the Block. Please. kill. me. Also....ticketmaster should know that anything within 7 days in any major metro is likely to be sold out already, so discovering a show that you can't go to anyway is just frustrating.

Anyhow. I'll be deleting this application. Thanks for nothing, guys...what does that infamous service charge go towards anyway? Gold-plated corporate jets?
