Not as Famous as Joe, he still had a great Deal of Talent and Made his own mark on the Sport.

Way before my time, although the DiMaggio certainly is famous. Dom wasn't a great like his brother, but he was an above average player for a long enough career. Hadn't really heard much about him lately until his passing.

Little brother of the more famous Joe, Dom was a star in his own right, a fine defensive centerfielder and a competent hitter. He played from the forties to the early fifties, and was called "The Little Professor" for his rather scholarly looks and distinctly librarian glasses. He retired long before my time, and kept largely to himself, but for some reason he's always fascinated me. It must have been something of a challenge to be a skilled player, but always regarded as second fiddle to Joe playing in Yankee Stadium.
