The more I study the Jewish culture, the more I realize how the Bible truely is meant for us to understand with a Jewish point of view. In the Western culture, we understand traditions completely differently. Therefore, our perspective is askewed in terms of how we interpret the Bible. But this book has helped me to better understand the meaning behind so many scriptures and has helped me to appreciate what the Lord expects of us and those who call themselves "his people". I loved this book and I look forward to more from this author.

I purchased this book after starting to read my daughter-in-law's copy while I was visiting. It is so well written, and I love the research and history that sheds light on the Jewish wedding traditions and how they provide a type for the analogy of the Savior as the bridegroom. What lovely traditions and insights this book brought to my attention. I would recommend it to the bible scholar, as well as a great resource for how we should think of one another as husbands and wives. Something most likely outside the intent of the text, but nonetheless, in my opinion, if we went into our marriages with the respect and thoughtfulness of the traditional values in the Jewish traditions-- marriages and families would love, cherish, and respect one another from a broader perspective than most do today. This book increased my understanding of the Savior as the 'bridegroom' and gave me increased appreciation for my own marriage vows.

This book helps greatly in understanding Christ's parables by explaining Jewish customs of the time, most especially Jewish marriage customs.
Reads easily and draws the reader in with an interesting narrative.

This book wove Jewish customs and Biblical and latter-day scripture together in a profound tapestry. The insights and connections, even those mentioned just briefly, provide much food for thought. The temple symbolism and Messianic implications were very moving. A must-read for every saint, student, and scholar!

I read multitudes of books, but this volume was not only easy to understand, but sweet and beautiful in its presentation. Having spent some priviledged hours discussing the reasons and concepts of this book with the author myself, I felt more excited than ever to enjoy this experience and feel my mind and heart so expanded by this approach to the relationship between the Savior and each one of us, for we are beloved by him.
