Awesome! It's something I may end up doing someday. Driving the country blasting the tunes, stopping buy at a hotel, meeting a bimbo in a lounge ect. What a life!

Probably one of the most stressful occupations you can pick. Short haulers have to worry about city traffic tight turns and small streets, never mind pedestrians and a$$ hole drivers. Long haulers have all these problems plus all the idiots on the freeways. You really need a lot of patience and a good attitude for this job. I did not even the mention the problems they encounter picking up and dropping off loads.

I agree with jazzpurr. Not only are they important, it would be fun. Driving around the country, seeing the sites...

In my mind, there are two qualifications you have to have to be a truck driver. #1) You have to have an almost complete lack of knowledge of any rules and regulations of driving, and #2), Any knowledge you do have about said rules and regulations, you must completely forget when you get behind the wheel.....Okay, I'm kidding, but not by much. I swear, if the speed limit is 55, those trucks will go 65, and if the speed limit is 70, they'll go 80. And forget having an entire lane to yourself if one of them tries to pass you. They seem to think the entire thing belongs to them. Now, this might be a great job for some people. You get to travel and see the U.S.A., and I've heard the pay can be pretty good. But if you have a family, you are gone so much of the time, it might not be worth it. Anyway, it would be far from being my dream job.

I did not watch Survivor, thus I am ignorant of Sue The Trucker. This has got to be one of the most underappreciated jobs on the planet. The food in grocery stores, the clothes in department stores, even the cars we drive-all of it because of trucks. The list is endless. That truckers as a whole get thrown in a box called stupid, dumb, etc,is a real shame. Sure, there are some crazy truckers out there,as there are police officers, lawyers and ex-presidents.

I think before I saw the TV show "Survivor," I would have given "Truck Driver" at least four stars. Unlike most people, I don't mind big trucks on the highway, because Truck Drivers know what they're doing - if they're not passing, they stay in the right lane, and they help keep idiot car drivers in line. Also you have to give Truck Drivers a couple points for that movie where Stallone was a truck-driving arm-wrestler (Over the Top?). But when I watched "Survivor," and absorbed the spectacle that was Sue, the Truck Driver, I'm unable to give the profession anything more than two stars.
