Nahh. Would be no fun. You have to really stick to a diet and keep yourself in shape. It would get old with me lol.

I've been beaten within an inch of my life by some crackhead workouts devised by these people. Two thumbs up.

I have a colleague who signed up for one of those "boot camp" things and brags about how he paid a couple of grand to have someone scream abuse at him while he busted his ass. I don't get it, but it sounds like a good gig for the trainer.

I've heard it's a tough job, because you've always got to be on - always high energy. If you come to work showing signs of fatigue or illness, or if your just in a sour mood, it's going to show to your clients and now they are going to have a bad workout and you are going to get bad referrals. And at the same time you might be playing psychologist to those clients who come in and complain about life during their entire session. But, the pay is good, you aren't in an office all day, and it's rewarding in that you get to help people get healthy and you can see and hear about the results.

These jobs disappear when there's an economic slowdown, because then Buffy and Chip don't have the money to spend on this non-essential nonsense when they've run through their unemployment benefits, gone through the little savings they had, maxed out their credit cards and moved into their parents' garage.

My first reaction was to give being a personal trainer a 5 but then I realized that I was thinking more about how I would love to have a personal trainer, not to be one. First of all, at the gym I go to, the personal trainers are laughable. Most are out of shape and all of them are total cheeseballs. The gym is a cheesy place and I wouldn't want that to be an environment that I work in 8-10 hours a day. Not like sitting in front of a computer is much better but the gym? I just couldn't do it. I don't want to be trying to motivate out of shape people that are obviously seeking something that a personal trainer can give them.

I think this is one of those jobs that sounds good at first, but when you have to do it every day I bet it starts to suck. Wouldn't it get really boring to stand around and watch someone exercise? The same routines, over and over, the same overweight, cranky people... I have a hard enough time getting the the gym myself, let alone motivating someone else.
