numbah and I can agree on our Uncle Bob, but my reasoning is different. While numbah has every right to be proud of his aircraft identification skills taught to him, I can brag about getting simulator time at the FAA Acadamy when Uncle Bob ran the show there back in the early 90's. :)

Uncle Bob made a career of it and he's my coolest uncle. He was a Lt Colonel in the Air Force and worked for the FAA. He also brought me toy planes all the time when I was a kid. Who knew that I would end up being an Air Defense gunner and Uncle Bob unwittingly made me capable of identifying most of the threat aircraft I would ever need to know?

I'm married to one and he is my hero! However he doesn't have many of the problems that people assume they have! Controllers do deserve the respect they get but with as with any job there are those that slip thru the cracks!

i hear this is supposed to be the #1 most stressful job in the country. i wouldn't wanna do it but i do have appreciation for them.
