The Ryan Express never looked better. Best heater in the game, and very few could touch it. 7 no-no's is proof of that.

I always figured that Ryan would be throwing harder when he's eighty that most people could throw when they were eighteen. I have a tape of this game, and he's throwing harder in the ninth inning than he is in the first. An incredible event, from an incredible, possibly unique pitcher.

cool moment, but not near the others at the top of the list. I believe it was Robin Ventura that got his head beat in.

Nice moment because he was old as hell when he did it.

Awesome, but remember when he put Ruben Sierra in a headlock and mercilessly pummeled him for rushing the mound?

True story- I was at a strip club for a friend's bachelor party and EVERY GUY in the joint was watching the TV from the 7th inning on. The poor strippers were trying to earn tips but everybody was watching Ryan make history. . .one of the girls yelled, "YOU GUYS SUCK!" I laugh about it to this day. It was a great baseball moment. . .and the most memorable bachelor party moment in my life.

This was a true milestone event in baseball. FYI - Nolie wasn't on the brink of 40 when he threw #7 - he was 44! He retired at age 46.

Nolan Ryan is not human, he is a freak of nature. The guy was on the brink of 40 and this guy throws his seventh no hitter in his career that started in 1966?!? Phenomenal!

He was old at this point. Although this is by far an unprecedented feat, I don't think it holds up with some of the more memorbale moments in the history of baseball. Nolan was a dominant pitcher, but this particular seventh no-hitter doesn't compare to others in baseball's gloried history.

Ryan was sold/traded to the Rangers by Astros owner John McMullen because he was "washed up". Of course, only Ryan, and the Astros fans, knew that "Nolie" still had 2 no-hitters left to pitch. The Astros curse notwithstanding, Ryan was a phenomenal player and a gentleman; a true giant in the baseball pantheon. The event is a bona fide baseball milestone.
