 | LasagnaOnYa (0) 06/19/2004 | This program is the only one I've ever stuck to whole-heartedly (with a partner..which helps)and got excellent results. Yes, the eating plan was hard to get used to at first, but once I got used to it, it was great. I started the program as a size 14 and didn't see any results or lose any weight for about four weeks. Then all of the sudden...I was dropping it like crazy. I ended the 12-week challenge as a size 10 (some 8's)and was toned nicely. Everyone noticed the results and praised my hard work. It was hard work. A word to the wise though...you have to stay active and continue to do some weight training or you will turn to flab quickly! I have recommended this program to many people who have also found excellent results. We have a Body For Life support group in our hometown. You may, too! Check it out and good luck. :)

 | sysman (0) 05/24/2004 | I give it a thumbs up. Quite intense though and it can be damaging (e.g the sprinting caused me knee pains). The deit is good, maintaining the 500cal deficit. The weight training also helps build muscles for the long term. I would say this is a program for someone already relatively fit, I can imagine a 500lb person doing the exercises. The deit plan is too rigid and should allow flexiblity for other foods. Oh and before I forget, it is also a sales pitch for EAS products a.k.a. Mr Phillips company.

 | clip12 (0) 02/27/2003 | This diet is more than just a diet. It is a whole-body plan. The eating part of the plan is a little tough at first, but I started noticing results after the first week. They weren't huge, but I was able to fit back into a few pair of pants that I thought I'd never be back into. Yes, it is a very healthy plan. The free day is so much fun, but you find yourself wanting to still eat somewhat healthy on that day. If you try this diet, you won't be let down. But, here's the thing--it's no quick fix. You need to give it some time, and follow the plan. It doesn't cost you anything more than your standard grocery bill.

 | Jaws (10) 03/11/2002 | Bill Phillips makes some interesting points about muscle growth and fat loss in this book. His principles are based more on common sense than mainstream (ineffective) weightloss techniques. The steps he outlines are simple but require effort and have produced the quickest results with the least amount of self-torture for myself. You don't just loose weight, you become healthy. Healthy people will burn fat faster than unhealthy people. I strongly recomend this book. The results from this program compared to others is like comparing Denise Austin to Gwyneth Paltrow or like comparing Brad Pitt to Jim Carey. (I prefer a firm, sexy woman over an anorexic or a bulimic but hardcore women bodybuilders are disgusting)
