I started Jenny Craig after I had already lost 80 lbs, at my highest, I was 345, although everyone said I "carried it well". I worked really hard to get the first 80 off on my own and with a trainer, however I got in a rut after I had major surgery and decided it was time to get some help. That help came via Jenny Craig, since I joined 6 months ago, I've lost 38 lbs, I'll admit I wasn't always on the "straight and narrow" with the program, so even going off 1 or sometimes 2 nights a week, I was able to lose on average over 1.5 lbs a week! The food is fantastic, 10 times better than Nutri System and easier than Weight Watchers. It's actually taught me that I'll be able to do this on my own once I go on maintenance plan. Just DO IT!!!

Hi, I LOVE THIS DIET!!!!! I started Jenny because I am constantly dieting and loosing and gaining all the weight back!!! I started at 150 and it’s been 4 weeks and I’m at 138 which freaking rocks.. I’m a teacher and well I had really bad eating habits with always eating on the go.. Now with jenny I plan and I talk to my consultant and she helps me when I decide to have dinner.. It really isn't pricey if you eat breakfast out and lunch out every day you spent anywhere from 12-17 a day on eating out..... And I spent about 100 dollars a week on 7 days of food and snacks!!! So if you decide to try jenny remember it’s a slow but rewarding process.

I can't believe that a company that charges so much has such lousy customer service. They got my money and sent the food on a Friday. They failed to tell me that there was frozen food on dry ice in the box that would thaw after 7 hours. The box sat on my porch until I arrived home. All the food was thawed out. Inside the box was a notice that the dry ice was only good for 7 hours. Duh! That's a little bit too late. Jenny Craig wouldn't make good the cost of the frozen food. They wouldn't replace the food. They just blew me off! It's unbelievable that in my first order I've been screwed by this company. Stay away from them. They obviously could give a flying **** about their customers.

I was 20-30 lbs overweight so I decided to join JC. I had to pay 400 something $ for the membership plus the cost of one week food $150/week... freaking expensive. I just went in there to inquire but the lady pushed all the papers towards me to sign; I told her that I just wanted to get a quote of how much it will cost me and she said that I have to sign all the papers first and join otherwise she wouldn't be able to tell me the cost of joining the program unless i become a member. I lost 1 lb the first week and the following weeks I was only losing 1-1.5lb and was very frustrated, imagine paying $150 a week to lose a pound??? Such a RIP OFF!!! They weren't very helpful, everytime i go there to pick up my one week supply of food, they just weigh me, give me the food and tell me to buy supplements; like what most people say; they are not certified nutrionists, they're just there to sale food and make a commision... this program sucks!!! I didn't get the support I needed. I lost 2 lbs and $3000........ I could have used all that money to go shopping GRRRRRRRRRRRR or for my beauty school, how stupid... I am never joining any diet programs anymore. The food sucks!!! If you are thinking of joining JC, think a million times, read reviews about it first, get opinions from people that were on it....... and plus who wants to eat from a box every single dayyyyyyy??? The people that work for JC, they are not very educated... the lady that was supposed to be my coach did not know anything and useless!!!

THIS DIET DOES WORK!

I WEIGHED IN AT 179 LBS .

FOUR MONTHS LATER I NOW WEIGH 135LBS

I 100% DID NOT FAIL THIS DIET, I STUCK EXACTLY TO THE RULES AND FOOD!

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL SEE CONSTANT RESULTS SINCE YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO LOSE 1-2 LBS PER WEEK IF YOU 100% STICK TO THE DIET AND NO CHEATING IT!

I NOW AM EXERCISING MORE AND I AM EVEN LOSING MORE WEIGHT :)

ITS VERY TOUGH THE FIRST 2 WEEKS AND THEN ITS EASIER THEN YOU GET A LITTLE HUNGRIER BUT THEY HAVE TIPS AND FOOD ITEMS THAT YOU CAN HAVE WHEN YOU ARE STILL HUNGRY. FOR EXAMPLE YOU HAVE A LIST OF UNLIMITED FOODS SUCH AS: CARROTS, CUCUMBERS ETC.

IF YOU ARE 100% SERIOUS ABOUT LOSING THE WEIGHT, THEN THIS DIET WILL WORK, TAKE IT FROM ME! I AM ALMOST TO MY GOAL WEIGHT, AND ITS ONLY BEEN 4 MONTHS!

WE ALL KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THAT WE DONT NEED THIS SOMEWHAT EXPENSIVE DIET PLACES TO HELP FIX OUR WEIGHT PROBLEMS, I HAPPEN TO BE SOME ONE WHO NEEDS A PLAN WRITTEN DOWN AND FOOD READY FOR ME TO EAT BECAUSE I COULDNT DO THIS BY MYSELF. THEY ARE GOING TO TEACH ME AND WRITE DOWN FOR ME WHAT TO EAT ONCE I AM AT MY GOAL WEIGHT AND STILL HAVE ME COME IN FOR WEEKLY CONSULTATIONS TO MAKE SURE I AM MAINTAINING MY WEIGHT AFTER THIS PROGRAM AND THAT WILL TAKE SLOW STEPS OF GETTING MY BODY OFF THEIR FOOD AND ONTO NORMAL FOODS SLOWLY SO MY BODY DOESNT GO INTO SHOCK. I AM VERY CONFIDENT OF THIS PROCESS AND FEEL LIKE I REALLY UNDERSTAND NOW HOW TO MAINTAIN THIS WEIGHT, I AM EXCITED!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU IF YOU TRY THIS DIET! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!

A great diet if you want to loose weight quick. The calorie intake of 1200 seemed so small and I often felt dizzy on the diet.

REALITY HERE PEOPLE!! Seriously if you're complaining about spending $120 a week and you are at least 20lbs over weight, you are not being very honest with yourself. That is about $18 dollars a day, do you know how much food you would have to buy in order to maintain the weight you are now and still continue to gain?... a lot people! One coffee from Starbucks... $5 dollars, one fast food meal $6 ok so so far thats $11 now add up all in between, because you know we all do that much most of the time. The problem isn't the cost or the program, it's the fact that you are just not serious about weight loss, and you want any excuse to fail and say you tried so that you really don't have to change. It's a great program if you actually honestly work it and stop blaming the rest of the world and all the programs you've tried and just be honest with yourself. The food is good, the program teaches you how to eat small portions throughout the day and you meet a consultant and weigh in once a week and get whatever questions answered. Yes you have to pay a program cost, but only once and the rest is paying for food once a week that cost about $120 a week... they are a business people, they aren't giving things away. You don't go anywhere and not pay, do you work for free? It's a hard struggle but any program can work if you work it. I've lost 50lbs and I actually saved money on the program because it prevented me from eating out all the time and buying my white chocolate mocha's from Starbucks. So give it a try and make your own decision.

I have been on JC for just over a month and have lost 13lbs. I found this site and when i read some of the few negative reviews I noticed they all claimed that JC was expensive and didnt teach you proper nutrition. My first thought to that is that I think most of us are aware what healthy food is. I am guessing that 99% of the people reviewing JC have also tried countless other plans (myself included) So we all have some basic knowledge of healthy food choices. We all know whole grain is better than refined and that steamed broccoli is a better choice than french fries yadda yadda. DUH!! We know exercise helps shed pounds. I dont need JC to tell me that. Although they did go over all of this at my consultation. Part of the program includes having to prepare your own food a few days a week once you get half way to your goal. They do give you detailed instructions for this.

As for being expensive. I disagree. The program costs me $80 per week and I can tell you that is a lot less than i would spend on groceries for myself for the week. plus I save so much not ordering that calorie filled mocha every morning and eating lunch out everyday.

The reason I love the program is pure convenience. I have two kids a fulltime job and love having my meals prepared instead of starving in the kitchen looking for somthing healthy then realizing it will take me an hour to prepare it therefore opting for 2 of the kids pizza pops.lol

I think that all these diet programs are effective IF they are right for your lifestyle. JC is for me!

It teaches you how much 1 serving is and how you should eat in those small portions the rest of ur life!! COMMON SENCE PEOPLE!! the ones who gain back are the ones who BINGE after the diet and go back to eating oily, fattly, GINORMOUS portions and dont move!!! I have learned how much and how to eat cuz of jenny!! if you continue to eat in those small portions the rest of ur life, YOU WONT GAIN IT BACK! HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Of course you can have a slice of pizza or McDonalds after the diet but not all the freeken time and eat a whole pie of pizza and a double quarter pounder supersized!!! I hate to see people taken advantage of, this is why I am writing this review, the only reason, I promise you.
Are these reviews for real? Or are company reps hacking into the system. This company has LOST many lawsuits (first one in 1997 when they had to admit that most people gained back the weight after ending the diet.
They have had to change spokespeople every couple of months just to keep up their image. This isn't a weight loss solution it is a waste of time and money.
I feel bad for the people who are suckered into believing this system works. Read other website's reviews, they are more accurate.
I'll give you better advice FREE!!!!
GET A WORKOUT/WEIGHTLOSS BUDDY, GET PSYCHED!!!
Every week buy 3 dozen eggs 5 pounds chicken breasts and 5 cans of Tuna ($25) Grill the chicken with spices, eat egg whites only in a nonstick pan with A COATING OF REAL BUTTER, eat tuna out of the can with some pepper. Don't buy potato chips and ice cream, no temptations in the house, make a huge salad every 3 days and buy low calorie dressing (10 calories) or spray dressings, eat atkins bars if you have a sweat tooth. Just use common sense.
Join your local gym ($400 a year or less), spend the money on a quality trainer or make a friend at one of their exercise classes
Take the junk food out of your cabinets and with each one you throw away tell yourself why you want to lose weight. Be serious, specific and thoughtful.
Challenge yourself, it is fun and when you feel hungry think about those around you who will have to take care of you when you have a heart attack or diabettes, think of them crying at night when you are dead or the responsibility you took when you decided to become parents.
Stop listening to these losers, who have a great "PROGRAM"
Jenny is especially a suckers bet and been taking stupid people's money for years
Take responsibilty and use common sense.
Succeed and laugh while you watch Queen Latifah's butt grow bigger
If not, go to your local tattoo parlor and print the word victim on your forehead and sucker on your wallet.
Good luck!

I just started Jenny Craig on last Wednesday December 10,2008. This is only friday but so far the food is okay. Although a little expensive. The only problem I had was mislead information when joining the program and not being able to see any prices of anything until check out time. That is really bad business, they discuss everything but the prices, and the food is over charged. They will also tell you that the food will cost anywhere from $12.00 to $18.00 a day...This is not true it is more than that and plus you have what is called mandatory items that also cost in addition to your weekly food. I guess in a couple weeks I will be able to see if it is really worth what I was charged. I do plan to follow this plan and do exactly what I am told because with those prices, if you don't lose the weight you might as well help the needy with the funds.

I like Jenny Craig and the food is good, although somewhat expensive.
I think its a much better program than Weight Watchers. However, Jenny Craig is NOT a crash diet, so you won't lose weight quickly. If you want quick weight loss - this is not the diet for you. This diet works well for someone who is interested in losing weight the healthy way.

I've been on Jenny Craig since august 2008. I've lost 26 ponds and I have another 30 to go. I highly reccomend this diet. Yes it is costly, however in the long run it will save you thosands of dollars in prescription drugs, hospial
And doctor visits that are a result of being over weight. The key to this is adding the proper amount of fruits and vegetables to fill you up and add the full amount of vitamins and nutrition. Also the anytime bars and the soupitizers help fill you up. I enjoy most of the meals, I tend to stock up on the pizzas and top it with fresh vegetables. The variety of food is probably the key to Jenny Craigs success.

I have been on Jenny Craig for 6 months. I've lost 24.8 pounds so far and I'm THRILLED. The food is delicious. The selection is great. Sure, it's a little pricy, but you don't HAVE to get the $5 French Toast / Pancakes / Breakfast Scramble every week... I lean towards the cheaper (and just as yummy) meals and get one splurge item a week. I paid $400 for a year up front. Sounds like a lot, but if you did Weight Watchers every week for $10 a week (and it's actually more now), you'd pay $500 EACH year. Next year, Jenny's only going to cost me $40 to stay a member. I tried other plans... like Weight Watchers.... but Jenny gets rid of the guesswork. I buy my food for the week and I know what I'm going to eat for the next 7 days. I don't have to count points and think "If I have this bagel for breakfast, that only leaves me with XX amount of points for lunch/dinner." Don't believe the hype about Jenny not teaching you how to eat. When you get midway to your goal weight they DO start teaching you to eat on your own a few days a week. By the time you get to goal you should be eating very little of their food. It's not perfect, but if you follow it, it works.

Jenny craig does really work i went from 265 pounds to 190 pounds I started in Jan 2007 and buy july i was 190 pounds. I worked out alot. Since 2007 i stopped the program it was too expensive I did have a budget to work with around 75.00 a week. I cut out a few items like the cereals and certain breakfast items. I can measure 3/4 of cereal on my own. It is a good program however i didn't see them help me to wean off their program. it was all about the food purchases. I bought some of their meals under a different name such as weight watchers or lean cuisine to save on money. Even walmart has some of their same meals under different names cheaper than jenny craig. I have gained back 15 pounds but i have been off their program for over a year. I did sign up for their memebership for 40.00 a year once you enrolled and pay the big fee up front. It is a good program and i have learned how to eat according to their menu but i still think it is pricey even after the discounts of 30%. It still doesn't cover the extras like the yogurts, vegtables, fruits, and diet drinks. It is worth it if your willing to dish out the money..I might go back to drop the 15 pounds i gained. good luck..

Jenny Craig is working great for me, with my work hours, having the prepared food is terrific. I supplement with fresh veggies and fruits. I have favorites amoung the food choices, not everything is to my taste but so what, that's the way everything is. I personally am not a big cake, brownie or muffin eater anyway so though I tried them, I don't order them but they are there for the people who have a sweet tooth. My husband has figured that we are saving money but not ordering take out, eating out as much.
It works for me, I am getting re-educated about portion control. I also work out with a trainer...from me, double thumbs up for Jenny Craig.

I joined Jenny Craig a year ago; I just finished their program and im proud to say that I started at 186lbs and I am now down to 125. I lost sixty one pounds on Jenny Craig. I went from a size 16 in jeans to a size five and a size Large in shirts to extra small. I can go to the beach and wear a bikini now without having to worry; I can be comfortable in front of people and enjoy my life. I even feel more confident with myself...Jenny Craig has done amazing wonders for me...Their food is great and the portions are just right...Im going to make sure I never go back to my old eating habitis again...Jenny Craig is by far the best diet I have ever tried and trust me i've tried them all. Jenny Craig works for me you should try it too..I've called Jenny! Have you?

Okay. Let's face it. Every diet works if you stick to it. You just need to find the one that is right for you. I've always been a life long dieter too and have tried many of them. I have struggled with 10-20lbs. most of my life. I have just recently gone back on Jenny Craig because I need the structure and accountability. I've lost on every diet I've ever done and gained after I stopped it. The bottom line is that I gained weight because I went back to the old eating habits and stopped exercising! It wasn't because a particular program didn't work. I agree that it is expensive, but if you find a good counselor they are very willing to work with you to come up with a budget. They will give you the list of the foods with the prices. I've had a counselor tell me to do my own breakfasts and snacks to save money. I've even told them how much I had to spend for a week and they worked around that. I've never felt pressured to buy certain foods. If you find your counselor is pushy I would talk to the manager and tell them you want to switch counselors. You might also try a different center if you have more that one near you. The program does teach you to eat properly. You need to read the materials and talk to the counselor. They wean you off of their food during the maintenance program to make sure that you do keep the right eating habits. They make it so you can eat out also. I've done Weight Watchers also for years. It's the same deal there. It works if you follow it. It just isn't right for me right now in my life. I need something quick and easy that I don't have to think about. I need to be held accountable on a weekly basis. The price helps to keep me in line. Since groceries have gotten so incredibly expensive now, it really isn't that bad. There are hardly any of the JC foods that I don't like. Most of them are actually very good. You do have to buy veggies, fruit and yogurt also. It is just a fact, but it is more expensive to eat healthier. You just have to decide what is important to you.

I would just like to say that Jenny Craig does work wonderfully! I lost just about 65 lbs on it. I started the end of may 07 and by march 08 I had reached my goal.
It was pricey, yes. But I used that idea to help me stay motivated and not stop. Really tho, everything costs money. I looked at it as investment.
The support that you get from your consultant is great, and it really keeps you accountable for your week. Also the majority of the ladies that work at the center have themselves lost weight on the program.
The program does allow for some cheating..hehe. I did one dinner on my own sometimes more and had drinks on the weekend. Also, I did my own breakfasts...anyone can measure out 3/4 of a cup of cereal and 1/2 cup of skim milk!
I did not sign up for the maintenance side of the program. I thought that was a bit much. I have been doing that on my own. So far it has been 4 months and all is good.  I do now exercise 3-4 times a week. Sometimes more, when I know that I have been indulging more than I really should.

Jenny Craig taught me how to eat, now I continue to do so. It is a great way to loose weight.  I would suggest it to anyone, to help get you on track. Because, it is something that you need to see to believe..I ill eat 6 times a day...little to no other exercise and loose weight!

I'm an avid jogger(of 19 years), may favorite foods are healthy, often ethnic, always natural. But I eat too much. So I gain weight. Calories in, calories out-scientifically proven. Jenny Craig is so far the only program that reminds me of correct portions. I've been on it 3 times - each time I've lost over 20 pounds over 3-4 months. Now, if I could stick with those portions when I'm on my own!

Well - started at 178 pounds and now weigh 156 pounds with Jenny Craig.
Slow and steady - since March, now 1 July. Only 15 pounds to go.
My husband starts Jenny Craig today.

There are days that I will use my own discretion and make my own food and I consciously avoid fatty foods/treats and am more in the know as to what piles on the pounds.

I now eat 3 meals a day...leaving out meals did not make me lose weight.

I am down 2 sizes - feel good enough to walk around naked in my bedroom.

My mom has been dieting since her 20's - now in her 60's - and this has worked for her - she looks super and is careful with what she eats - but she does eat and learnt this on the maintenance side of Jenny Crag.

Yes - the counsellors are not dieticians - but they motivate you and that ra ra..is great for my self esteem.

And for what it costs...I am determined not to cheat...maybe you get what you pay for.

Jenny Craig is great if you want to lose 20 lbs or so quickly. It's not good for the long term, because once you are through with the program, it's easy to go back to your old poor eating habits. Also, it's expensive. When I was on it, it cost around $75 a week. I think Weight Watchers is probably a better weight loss regime.

Jenny Craig works while you are on it. It effectively cuts your calories and sodium intake enough so that you drop the pounds. However, there is very little done to educate the customers on how to eat properly once they STOP eating the Jenny Craig Diet. Also, the employees are not trained dieticians. They are just salespeople. They want nothing more than to see you drop those pounds...even if that means advising you NOT to exercise because that could result in water retension or even muscle gain...thus preventing the scale from moving consistently. THAT IS RIDICULOUS.

Jenny Craig is good for people that are trying to drop baby weight or people that just need a first step in learning healthy eating habits. But unless you take the time to educate yourself and practice good eating habits Jenny Craig will be a big waste of money. Because as long as you gain the weight back and keep going to buy more food, they keep making money. And that's what they are all about.

ok, let the truth be told. I'm one of those girls who has tried everything from no carbs to cabbage soup diet. Jenny Craig is the ONLY thing that has worked for me. I am now on maintenance on 65kg. I have now lost 9 kg in 4 months.
It's really not that hard, just stick to the food and walk for 30 mins 3 or 4 times a week. The entire time i drank 2 or 3 glasses of wine a night! its so not hard! the food is so good too (mac & cheese!).
I was the biggest fast food queen, so all of you can do it! And it is cheaper that the weekly grocery bill!!!!

These people definitely do not have their act together. They can't even ship to the correct street address. Also, they try to suck you in to an expensive contract. I had a hard time getting a refund after I cancelled only 2 days after ordering the program over the phone. I prefer Nutrisystem-much cheaper, and they do have their act together. Their website is great, and so is the food!

Jenny Craig program is good but the store front facilities are disgusting. They have uneducated employees that rush you through your visits. The rewards program can save you money but not for 400.00 RIPOFF! I have switched to the lean cuisine program which is the same since Nestle owns both. You can pull the menus off the internet, get coupons and buy at any grocery store where the employees aren't on commission. I'll bet the jenny craig centers start to disappear. Nestle has only owned them for a couple years and their corporate cultures really clash!

no more weight loss, in their book it acctualy states you start loosing 1st and 2nd week, and after you start to loose from your fat about 0.5 to 1 lb, I keep the program no cheating, and I am starting to really get frusturated since 150 $$$/week is not worth it!!!! soon people have to realize the cost of program vs weight loss well is just not worth it. 10 month like Bertinelli and she lost 40 lbs that is 6.000 dollars

All I can say, if you want to lose weight and have a busy schedule, want great tasting food, this is a great program. I feel like I am eating more now because I am actually eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks between. It is so convenient for me. The cost to me is worth it as well. And instead of skipping meals and over eating for others, I am learning to eat the small meals throughout the day and feel satisfied.

In the past I would decide on a diet and go buy all the healthy food and it would sit in my fridge and I would end up throwing it away. With JC, I bought a big lettuce bag for my salads along with a few other favorite fruits and vegetables. I keep my daily food schedule from JC on my fridge and have been following it to a tee. I could not beleive how good the food tasted which made a huge difference for me. I tried Nutrisystem and all I can say is yuck, the food was terrible.

It's all about commitment to something you want to do for yourself. What can happen from there is weight loss, creating a habit of eating right and portion control. In the end the best part is you will lose weight which is why you have reached out for a program in the first place.

It's been just over a week for me and I lost 4 lbs my first week. I am only 5' tall so 4lbs is great. My goal is to lose 18lbs. I also joined a gym. I do have free 1 day a week where I can eat with my family but I plan on taking what I am learning from JC to keep to portions, healthy snacks, and making better choices.

Stay positive, join the gym, and good luck on your weight loss goals!

OKAY, so I can see where everyone here is coming from. I understand that some people think that eating out of boxes is unhealthy (which it is because of preservatives and not knowing exactly what is added to your food) and some people think Jenny Craig works. HERE IS THE REAL TRUTH: Jenny Craig does work. I am a college student in Southern California and I've never been fat and I've always been pretty active, BUT living in a party town has kept me from being healthy. Drinking everynight and eating junkfood (although I do dance most of it off at parties) made me feel like my body was slow and I needed a change. So you know what? I used money from my student loans (which in most cases students would be spending on liquor, drugs, Jack in the Box, ect.) and I bought a membership to Jenny Craig so I could feel healthy on the inside again. I never had a negative body image about myself and I was NEVER fat and lazy. I'm 5'5" and I weighed about 155 lbs and now I am under 130 lbs, but no one ever told me I was obese and I was going to die. I did it for myself. Jenny Craig tells you what pretty much any diet book will tell you: eat less, incorporate fruits and veggies, and get off your ass once in a while and move a little! I felt like JC really put me in check though. I feel and look great, I still go to clubs and bars and sin once in a while, but I make WAY better choices. I get healthier drinks (w/o all the sugar and fat) and afterwards when my girlfriends and I have munchies and theyre all eating onion rings, I order a grilled sandwich and veggies. As far as the boxed food goes, I don't think its healthy to eat out of a box for the rest of your life, but JC does not advocate doing that. The point is to learn portion control and it does exactly that. So now when I'm eating normal healthy food, I can think back to my frozen meal and realize the proper portion of meat, veggies, and starches. BELIEVE ME! its a lot better than hittin' up Wendys after class and getting a hamburger and fries (then you REALLY don't know whats being put into your food) and honestly what pre-med college student has time to cook?? I barely have time to hit the gym, but I would rather hit the gym and let JC or Lean Cuisines make my dinner. So for all you people out there who think Jenny Craig doesn't work, it DOES, but you have to keep at it and let yourself make mistakes once in a while and have fun! MAJOR KUDOS to all you out there who made a decision to change though. I have more appreciation for someone who says "ok this has to stop" than someone who just keeps eating themselves to obesity. And is you join JC they won't make you eat boxed food forever, trust me.

Haha, I loved your review maitaitom. You're completely right...eating almost a WHOLE casserole by myself for dinner is the exact reason I need to lose 30lbs. I'm going to try JC. Because here's the thing: between eating out and (multiple) trips to the grocery store, I've spent over $300 in about 15 days. On food. That's ridiculous. I've tried other diets where you prepare healthy meals and the thing is, even though I enjoy preparing the meals, I felt like that's what my ENTIRE day was spent doing...preparing and cooking food (And all of the fancy ingredients are just as expensive!!). I'm willing to pay less on food than I have been, and be able to re-learn portion control. Cause what I'm doing on my own just is not working.

I am thinking of joining JC after the first of the year. Is the food anything like the food from Nutri-System?

You know what, I just started Jenny Craig and I have to laugh when I read the reivews by the people who are hating on the program. Yes, the food is frozen and it comes out of a box, but they don't expect you to eat frozen food from the box for the rest of your life. The purpose of eating Jenny Craig provided food in the beginning is to help control portions. and YES, people DO need help controlling portions. It might be easy as taking out a measuring cup for some people, but for others, like myself, it's hard to know how many cups of what is enough, and what is a healthy amount for your body. Jenny Craig helps you with that. The food so far as been very good, and I am not planning on living off of JEnny Craig food for the rest of my life. This is helping me learn what one portion of chicken might look like, and is going to be an example of what a healthy lifestyle will be after I finish the program. So for those people who are reading this and are thinking that people who try Jenny Craig are just fat, lazy people, you have no idea what you are talking about. You have no right to judge people and say they are fat and lazy; just making the initial call to Jenny Craig means they really are trying to take care of themselves. The program is just meant to be a step towards a healthy lifestyle, and it does just that.

Hahaha. Guess what? Eating out of a BOX does NOT teach you jack about nutrition. Would you feed your kids out of boxes? I hope not. You need to actually LEARN nutrition and portion control. If you teach yourself portion control then you might actually have a chance at eating healthy for the rest of your life. I can't believe that people actually think its ok to eat what a frozen meal gives you and actually think it will change your life until the day you die. So you know what a boxed portion of food looks like? People need to stop being lazy and actual PARTICIPATE in their healthy lifestyle. You bitch about how you can't figure out protion sizes and you need someone to make your meals for you....yet all it takes is to scoop something up with a measuring cup or plunk something down on a scale. I like to actually KNOW what goes in my food. I want to be the one making the food and knowing what goes in it. Its ok occasionally to eat frozen prepared meals....but they should be there for quick dinners or lunches when you don't have to time to make a calorie restricted meal. NOT AS A LIFESTYLE.

hey their, well I would have to agree with the people that lost weight that if you don't lose weight on Jenny it is you not the program that doesn't work.
I mean really look at the menu, the kilojoules are counted for you, the food is checked for fat amounts, watch your exercise and drink plenty or water. Their is nor preparation no way you can mess it up. i have been on the program for 2weeks now, both weekends I messed up and had drinks with friends, I put on a kilo each time, I still weigh 2/2 kilos less than when I started so come on, give me a break and wise up to your own behaviours. The first time I did Jenny Craig it did not suit me, I was breastfeeding, had a new baby and as a rsult the woman who put me on it should not of because I did not have enough kilojoules for myself and baby. I too felt lightheaded and dizzy and weak. This was because of the crap consultant not because of the Jenny Craig menu. When I left they also gave me a refund as they realised they had messed up. I give it a 4. the only thing holding it back is the price and the cracked pepper, they seem to think we all love big chunks of pepper in our toasted sandwhiches :-)

Wow!  After reading some of these tales of woe, I had to laugh.  I have been on Jenny Craig 18 days and lost about 15 pounds.  To the person with the big appetite, hey that's a you problem, not a Jenny Craig problem.   Decrease your portions, and your appetite will decrease and, voila, you'll lose weight.  I also had a big appetite, which is the whole reason I need to lose 25 pounds.  Shocking, huh?   Gee, I found out I didn't need to eat half a chocolate cake before I went to bed.  I have not been overly hungry in the nearly three weeks I have been on the program, and I actually feel better exercising without my big, fat stomach getting in the way.  I can fit in my 34 jeans for the first time in three years.  I have enjoyed 90% of the meals, and the ones I don't like, I don't have to buy again.  As for customer service.  I don't need someone to give me a pep talk or give me life counseling.  You either want to lose weight or you don't.  Take control for yourself.  Take some responsibility for yourself.  If you do, you'll lose weight on this diet (my wife has been on it two weeks longer than me and lost about 18 pounds).  If you want to whine and complain, no diet will work, no matter how good it is.  I agree with annamarie, some people are negative about everything, and it's always somebody elses fault.  For me Jenny Craig works, and if you have a positive attitude about losing weight, it will probably work for you.

i agree with some of the reviews here... that JENNY CRAIG SUCKS. i am currently enrolled in a jenny direct program and i just want to confirm some of the complaints here. the jenny craig staff are just friendly to you the first time, but if they see that you are decided to stick with them, they tend to neglect you. the consultants don't call anymore when you've decided that you would not renew your membership (for whatever reason you may have). they don't deliver your food during the time that you have instructed them to (NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES). they are inconsistent as to when their frozen foods are still good from the package. some say as long as they don't smell funky. others say not more than 24 hours. actually, i think they don't really know. BEWARE: their foods are not good after 24 hours of being shipped - unless you want to have an upset stomach (CAUSE I DID! and i blame myself for believing in that stupid customer representative who convinced me. AND JENNY CRAIG DID NOTHING ABOUT THAT!) and if ever you will be having problems with the food delivery, they will just tell you that FEDEX people are lazy - and they'll tell you that they can't do anything about it. and even if you leave a message on their customer representative voicemail, they really don't return your call... NOT UNLESS YOU ARE INTERESTED TO JOIN THEIR PROGRAM. their diet might have worked for me, but the stress they've caused--- both in my pockets and personally -- I REGRET STICKING WITH JENNY CRAIG. PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID...

annemarie78: I happened to stumble across this review while doing some research. I do not need to lose weight. However, I am compelled to respond to your post. The Secret is not about berating others into the positive. It is about "being positive" in your thoughts, attitude and WORDS. Perhaps letting the people on the post know how to be positive by simply being positive in your review---you can certainly critic things you do not like in a way that feels positive or subjective versus using others in a negative way to make a point----yes? This would have been a good way to demonstrate The Secret. Much love and good luck!

To all of the people with negative comments about Jenny Craig: The exact reason you did not lose weight or thought it didnt work is because you are a NEGATIVE thinker. It's very apparent you are the type of confrontational people that are never satisfied. Complaining in restaurants, relationship issues, arguing with co-workers. You know it's true. You will carry this energy with you for the rest of your life and good things won't start happening to you until you start thinking positive. To the people who knew it was expensive and pursued it anyway, were looking for a weight loss program that would help them feel better. Feeling better about yourself, contributes to a positive attitude, which leads to all good things. Watch or rent the documentary, "The Secret". Explains everything. You will never be happy if you dont think positive. Jenny Craig works, c'mon. It is scientifically proven that when you reduce calories, you lose weight. Let's all get serious. Good luck to the people still headed towards a more positive lifestyle.

I have been on Jenny Craig for almost four months now and I have lost 60 pounds. It works. The food is good. You have more energy. Your wallet will lose some weight too but it's worth it. I have NEVER lost sixty pounds after years of dieting. The results you see (super fast) keep you motivated and make you want to succeed. I actually like exercising now. I may sound like Kirstie but Jenny changed my life. I recommend it to everyone. To those who say it doesn't work, perhaps you should be honest with yourself and realize that you cheated. You probably didn't exercise and that is a must. Weight loss is never easy but Jenny makes it a lot simpler than going it alone.

I love Jenny! It has been two weeks and I have lost six pounds! It teaches you how to eat that's all.It can give you the motivation to keep going or a boost in the right direction! Try it-it's not bad.I signed on for six weeks for 36.00 plus the cost of food. Now I know what I can eat,so I have started supplementing all snacks and breakfasts which reduce my cost of food tremendously! They will work with you and they will do all they can to help you stay financially on the plan. Two weeks and both weekends I ate on my own terms, but still kept in mind food portions and caloric intake and I still lost.So you can still maintain even after you get off the program!I recomend Jenny!I'll leave another review in a few weeks to let you'll know my progress! Respectfully, San Antonio,TX

I did not receive counseling calls as promised--they either did not call, or they called at the wrong time. It was very expensive and did not deliver on the days scheduled. I lost work time waiting for food arrival. I tried to get a refund since they did not give promised services, but was unable to get my money back. Buyer beware! Once they have your yearly subscription, they do not care about customer service. I would never recommend Jenny Craig to anyone.
