I am currently enrolled with Axia for my associate's in business. Number one, they are a regionally accredited school which means the credits ARE transferable to a traditional university. Of course, you're not going to Harvard with a UOP degree, but its a starting point for people that work and want to achieve some level of education. Yes, it is quite expensive, but keep in mind you are paying for the convienience of being able to attend school on your terms and time. So far, my instructors have been very helpful to me as well as my academic team. They call or email me every week to see how I am doing, and if I have any questions. As far as financial aid is concerned, I am completely aware that part of the funds to pay for my schooling is a pell grant and the other are subsidized and unsubsidized loans. The bottom line is, you are going to always have people that have had bad experiences and will deter you not to attend this school because of what they went through. You never trust an... Read more

This school is absolutely horrible... i have been there for over a year and havent learned anything.... the books figure that you must be a 6 yr old.... and the teachers? well ..... lets just say YOU TEACH YOURSELF.......PERIOD DO NOT I REPEAT .... DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL and if you know anyone that wants to go .....TELL THEM TO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT..... an expensive 12,000 dollar lesson. summary: 35 percent retention rate for students staying after the first year... 15 percent GRADUATION RATE.....hmmm I WONDER WHY?

    1. When I started Axia I had 24 credits for different colleges they only accepted 2 credits. 2. I only had two classes left to take and they applied for financial aid for 8 classes when I asked for the remainder of the money they said they did my financial wrong and they had to re-do it and send the money back to my lender. Well they didn't re-due my PELL grant until I was two weeks away from getting my AAB. 3. When I asked them why it wasn't done all they said was we will expidite it. That was two months ago. 4. It has been since January 2010 that I have been trying to get my PELL grant money and as of today I still get lie after lie after lie and excuse after excuse why they have not released my funds.

I have to agree with everyone that has posted reviews on this school. I am currently attending this school and I am desperately wanting to get out. I flunked 2 classes and now the school is expecting me to pay them 2,070 or it was 2,500 something like that to finish school and graduate this year. I am disabled and I do not have that kind of money to keep attending this school another thing I find so hard for me is everything is printed out or if you buy the books you have to buy your books and it does not come out of your grant money. The school is supposedly using the grant I get from fafsa and come to find out they are using loan money instead of the grant money. They sent me my check that was left over and now they are telling me I had no right to use it on my bills because that was for school only. When I started the school they told me that I could pay my house payment, light bill or what ever bill that I needed to pay as long as it was for me to be in school and not have to quite... I am currently going to the university of phoenix. I thought this was a credible school but it is not!!! I have taken 4 classes which are only 9 weeks long and they have charged me $12,500. WTF!!! i had no idea it was going to be that expensive, now that i want to switch schools i have found out that the credits are not transferable. so i am out of $12,500 and for what nothing. how can they do this? on top of all this i thought financial aid was covering all of it and now they are saying i signed up for a loan. which i did not. so know i actually have to pay the money back and its all for NOTHING!!!

I am currently enrolled in this school! Trying desperately to get out of it. I am changing schools. i am 31 and this is my second school. The first one was a traditional University here where I live. wanted something more flexible with my little one's so I decided to go online. What a joke! Nothing is as it seems. I was told many things only to find out things change. I had everything from people changing things on my FASA to my classwork changing without notice. Items appearing that were not in the syllabus. B.S. When I started having problems and found another route I wanted to take I magically cannot get any of those people to call me back..... Interesting eh? My phone was ringing off the hook when they wanted me in there. Now they are making more changes to how often you have to post and attendance. I am always on there as it is! NOT FOR ME! RIP OFF FOR SURE! My instructors would take 2 sometimes 3 days to get back with me. Can anyone say Nightmare? I sure can!

I am getting ready to start with ctu so i do not know much about what they are like yet, but let me tell you something, the reason I am going to ctu is because I am leaving axia college of university of phoenix which is the business "school" or division of uop and I wouldn't wish that school on my worst enemy. They told me an associates in business management would be $12,500 before I joined, well 6 months later and 2 rates raises it turns out it's going to be $25,000. now, for an education, that's not bad, but I was lied to in the beginning when they wanted me to join, and also when I esigned my loan application for the $12,500 they had me sign an open agreement. So the university can take as much of money as they want when they raise their rates and never even have to bother to ask me if thats okay. I'm half way through an associates degree and 20 grand in the hole and didn't find that out until recently because they didn't deem it necessary to tell me. when i started asking question... Read more
