This neighborhood really seems to be coming on. Pac Bell park seems to have triggered a revival here - restaurants, shops, and bars are springing up everywhere, and South Beach is actually developing a neighborhood feel. Seems to be more of a singles neighborhood than for family, but it is family friendly in the sense that it is safer and cleaner than other parts of the city (soma, mission, etc.).

I'm just getting to know the South Beach neighborhood. Seems OK, but is it family-friendly? Or is it better for singles?

I wouldn't want to live in South Beach. It's too isolated from everything except the Financial District and Fisherman's Wharf.

South Beach kind of sucks. It's kind of isolated from other good neighborhoods, and there just aren't that many good places around. If you work in the Financial District and want a really fast commute, you're all set, but other than that I can't understand why you'd choose to live there.
