This is the best neighborhood in Chicago. Museums, bars, restaurants, a university, historic districts, vintage properties, great demographics, safe area, close to downtown, great public transit, 3 'L' stations and buses puts other Chi-Town 'hoods to shame. Only fault is that it is expensive, but that helps keep most dangerous people out.

Probably the most overrated neighborhood in Chicago. The cost of living here is very high, and even for people who enjoy the Yuppie city lifestyle, the sight of thousands of people in their Jettas and SUV's drinking Starbucks coffee is more than a little ridiculous. Go north past Diversey or south past Fullerton for much more interesting, affordable, and fun areas and live *near* Lincoln Park, not in it.

If you want to know the mentality of people who live in Lincoln Park, check out this website: http://www.lptrixie.com/ I'm not sure if it's hilarious or really sad.

Lincoln Park is a suburb within a city. The residents love imagining that they're the urban hipsters, but they're really as suburban as it comes. SUVs are everywhere, as are strollers and Starbucks. No diversity, unbelievably high rents, and snotty residents make this a 'hood to avoid if you want the city life. However, if you are a suburban mommy who wants Frappuccino available every 10 yards, (not that there's anything wrong with that!) it's definitely for you. Cool shopping and really good restaurants make Lincoln Park worth the easy CTA trip every once in a while. The ole "It's a nice place to visit, but..."

Way to expensive and not enough diversity (It's the flocking place for IU post grads to relive thier frat/sorority days. The only redeeming quality about lincoln park is the shopping!

I lived in Lincoln Park for a year and enjoyed certain parts of it. The El goes right through it, there are good bars and restaurants around (including some great blues bars like Kingston Mines), and it's relatively safe. But it's not as diverse and interesting as other neighborhoods, and it's expensive.
