Hard to review the whole of this area because it is split between the Lincoln Park community area and the Near North community area, with the LP section (north of North Avenue) deserving 5 stars and the area to the south of North Ave. deserving 3.

Possibly the best neighborhood in Chicago. Lincoln Park is the most yuppified, but it's also the most expensive. Lakeview / Wrigleyville is too crowded. But Old Town is perched in between Lincoln Park and the much more expensive Gold Coast, has some of the best bars and restaurants, ranging from affordable to really upscale, is near the Michigan Avenue shops, and has great public transportation.
