TweetDeck 3

If you're looking for a full-featured twitter client for the iPhone, Tweetdeck will fill that need perfectly. If you use Tweetdeck on the desktop, it integrates seamlessly, pulling the search and groups columns in from one place to the other impressively well.

Unfortunately, all these great features that means its initial load time is eternal. I'm not kidding...forget about it on edge, and low-bar-count 3g.

I never have much cause to peruse tweets while I'm out and about...I only launch this app to send a reply to someone (I get notified by the Boxcar application whenever I get a DM or @reply, which saves me many texts a month). Unfortunately since it takes so long to load, I find myself cursing tweetdeck and canceling the load in favor of texting my reply anyway.

Tweetdeck is an amazing desktop app, but way too feature-rich to serve my needs on the iPhone. I'll be looking for something lighter-weight.

TweetDeck 3

I use TweetDeck on my iPhone and Seesmic Desktop on my Desktop.

TweetDeck is a good tool to see updates from your twitter friends from different accounts (they improved this part because when I first got it, it didn't support different account).

It's quite good from the publishing point of view. It's easy to post your tweets, reply, send direct messages, include pictures, location...

What I don't like about the app is that I can't search for keywords or trends from the app. I think real time search is the most important advance that Twitter offers and there is no way to take advantage of it with TweetDeck.

TweetDeck 2

It's not as good as m.twitter.com. Sure, there's more functionality, but all too often, the API is broken, and the content is not updating (I know this isn't Tweetdeck's fault). The three column layout is a good idea in theory, but in practice, I like m.twitter's look and feel better. Maybe I'm just old school.
