This review is for Facets DVD rentals. (http://www.facetsmovies.com/) I am a huge fan of DVD rentals by mail. It's so convenient and it's easier than going to a local video store to rummage through the racks to find what you want. I'm already a GreenCine.com subscriber but when I heard Facets opened up its physical DVD rental store to the online community, I thought I'd give it a try. The pricing and convenience is similar to GreenCine. There's only 1 shipping facility but you have the option to mark your return as "returned" and they'll send you a new DVD right away. The pricing is more expensive than Netflix but like GreenCine, they have rare DVDs for rent at no extra cost (they have Barfly!). Although it's of no important to me since I don't own a VHS player, for those ULTRA-rare film seekers, they'll rent you VHS tapes for an extra $5 shipping fee. I am very satisfied with the service. They send you a really cool mailer when you first join up that has neat articles and lists in it. I'm always one to support online companies that support a greater cause, and I feel that I am supporting the larger film community by supporting companies like GreenCine and Facets.
