 | Enkidu (37) 12/04/2003 | Powerful, dark, intense, and richly metaphoric; it is still one of my favorite films of all time, but I have to be in the mood. Not suited for the typical American taste, since it requires attention, thought, patience, and a bit of education. It doesn't hurt to know a bit about European history and to have read Kierkegaard, either.

 | lukskywlkr. (3) 10/17/2002 | Very deep subject matter. A knight challenges death to a chess game in order to prolong his life. One of Ingmar Bergman's early films and it's well worth seeing. If you are looking for something light, this is not the movie for you.
