Dallas Mavericks 3

Of course I don't know much about the French guard they drafted, but from what I've read the draft experts who have scouted European players aren't terribly impressed with him. This seems like a pick for the future, and I still think the Mavericks should focus on winning now. Nick Calathes is a solid offensive player and is a decent 2nd round pick. He is probably more likely to help immediately. I think the NBA's economics played a factor in drafting Calathes in the 2nd with an unguaranteed contract, and selecting a European, who might not come over to the States this season, in the first.
