The recent media fuss about the death of Michael Jackson, along with the fact that his music really left no impact on me personally got me thinking about musicians who have recently died that have meant something to me, and Vern Gosdin fits the bill. He wasn't a huge name in country music, but he had a fair amount of success during the 80s with songs like "Set 'em Up Joe" and "Chiseled in Stone," which still gives me goose bumps when I hear it. This man had a one heck of a voice, in fact he was even nicknamed "The Voice" by other singers. I realize that many of you will probably be scratching your head and saying,"Who?" or at best,"Yeah, I think I've heard of the guy, those songs sound kind of familiar," but for me personally, this one deserves five stars.
