I think the book was pretty good....kept me interested. I'll probably read another by Carla Neggars.

This was a good mystery novel. I liked that it kept me guessing and I had no idea who the murderer was until the end. I could have used a little more explanation of how the heroine came to her conclusions to solve the case but overall it was a great book. I plan on reading more of this author in the future because while there is some romance, the whole book is not focused on it which makes for a more interesting read.

I haven't had much luck with books that have been offered for free to Kindle readers. In fact, outside of the classics, I had only finished three. This book by Carla Neggers was a wonderful introduction to her writing that I probably would have never experienced if it wasn't for my Kindle.

Neggers does an excellent job of limiting the number of characters so you actually get to know them. Abigail is detective who became a widow a week after she was married. The novel takes place seven years later and the case is still cold. You will sympathize with Abigail and you will also begin to sympathize with characters you are supposed to hate. The ending was a total surprise.

While I was lucky to download this when it was free. I would recommend purchasing this book. It was suspenseful and intriguing. All in all a very enjoyable book!

I wasn't sure about this book but it is one of the best books that I've ever read. The main character is widowed four days after her wedding, and after 7 years of not knowing her husband's killer, she recevies a mysterious phone call from a mysterious caller which prompts her to travel to Maine her husband's childhood home and the location of his murder. While in Maine she discovers secrets, love, betrayal and the worst crime that a person can commit.
