I know it's shocking, but our favorite A-list diva lets her hair down with this tell-all memoir (gays, pay attention.) She starts off with a personal letter to Oprah, which of course is very moving, telling her to brace herself for the tsunami that is this book. That's right, she's not holding anything back, and that's saying something. Kathy opens up with candid talk about her family, especially her brother Kenny. It takes a lot of guts to talk publicly about a family member who's a pedophile, so I give Kath props for sharing this painful story with us and for always finding that evasive silver lining. She talks about being a female comic in Hollywood and about what happened behind-the-scenes on the set of Suddenly Susan. Her marriage and the real scoop on what happened there is discussed at length as she starts to talk about her Emmy-winning Reality Show, "My Life on the D-List." She talks about her run-ins with the rich and famous and by that I mean Steven Spielberg, and her new BFFs--food and Paris Hilton. Diva is a masterful storyteller. Seriously, she's the best! The book is hilarious and the audio version, though abridged, is even funnier because it's narrated by diva herself! Get both the book and the audio version. You'll be laughing all the way into next year and maybe longer.

I enjoyed reading this book, and read it very quickly, but I thought there'd be a little more of Kathy's commentary - in a funny way. Hopefully it will open the door to more books!

I am a fan of Kathy Griffin and found this a great read. It has its share of celebrity gossip and bashing but overall was more of a real autobiography than I had anticipated - and therefore even more interesting than I thought it would be. The photos were a nice addition, too. I do wish she had included more comments on what she thinks of celebrities. Also, she doesn't say anything about her participation in the reality competition TV show "Celebrity Mole - Hawaii" which she actually won. I was surprised there wasn't at least a page or two about this show, or at least about the other celebrities who competed with her. I think it was something of a landmark in nationwide TV exposure for her after "Suddenly Susan" ended; at least it made me more aware of her as a comic as opposed to a supporting actor in a sitcom. Overall, though, this is a book that Kathy can be proud of, and that her fans will really enjoy.

This hilarious and heartbreaking memoir gives Kathy's fans great insight into her childhood (including a very troubled brother), her days in LA's Groundlings, her famous friends, and how she FINALLY got the fame she deserves. I couldn't put this book down! And her honesty about botched plastic surgery and a marriage gone south only made me love her more. Her story about Andy Dick was worth the price of the book alone.

And I mean that in a good way. I admit it, I skipped some of the beginning "Kathy Griffin, the early years" pages, read every word of the celebrity stuff. Yeah, just like I read People magazine. It's a fun, light read with lots of insight into the often photographed, but seldom really revealed world of celebrity. She spares no one, least of all herself. So, no, she's not always likable, but in a way, you've got to respect that too...
