Enormously important in that Franken, with one of the most radical resumes ever nominated (even moreso than Obama! which I thought was impossible) received enough votes to justify a recount, which always favors democrats, particularly radical left-wing democrats, as it did in this case. This example was no exception. Franken's vote gives democrats a super-majority (as if they need it) to carry out Obama's crazy, left-wing agenda, bringing the country's economy to its knees and strengthening every radical left-wing organization from the UAW to ACORN to Planned Parenthood to the ACLU beyond their wildest hopes and dreams. It makes national socialized health care, Ted Kennedy's long-time socialist dream, a reality and relegates ordinary Americans to an authentic Orwellian 1984-style existence, which will takes decades, perhaps centuries to unravel. Unemployment will soon be in the low teens as CNN and their comrades explain that that is essentially the fault of Bush and Reagan, of course, even though European unemployment levels have consistently exceeded that for the past 20 years. The only challenge will be to jam it through quickly enough that those whining about "give it time", "give him a chance" or "I waited to criticize Bush . . ." can run out the clock long enough for all the legislation to be enacted before the American people want to read it, which will never happen anyway. What money the government doles out to you will become recognizably worth less on a daily basis as government debt rises to previously unimagined levels, forcing all investment in new technologies (medical and otherwise) overseas, where taxes are appreciably lower, generally in developing nations. All new job generation will, naturally, follow the investment. Yes, the liberals have taken over the government, but they're really, really smart. You'll see.

As I said in another review, I honestly think Norm Coleman got screwed but it doesn't really matter. Stupid Fucker A instead of Stupid Fucker B. Oh well.

Filibuster proof Senate majority, yes. Minnesota is f***ed, yes. But most significant I think is that the Democrats get away 'cleanly' with overt election fraud on this one, and the courts just go right along with it. This exercise in self government trial run is nearing it's end........

Perhaps now Franken will stop impersonating a comedian?
Victor83 07/04/2009
Personally, I'd call this more than slightly significant. First of all, it gives the Dems a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.Secondly, it proves that Minnesota is an even more screwed-up place than we previously thought.

And I declare Minnesota to be officially fucked.

After Jesse Ventura, just how surprising is this turn of events anyway?
Automatt 07/01/2009
In deciding that Norm Coleman's legal challenges were without merit, the high court of Minnesota voted 5-0.I hear Coleman demanded a recount.

Minnesota was getting boring without Jesse Ventura in office.

It was like the election in Iran. Every time they counted the votes Franken got more.

While I'm not a Franken fan at all- it is sort of a story of having this election contested for too long to delay the inevitable. . .Gotta hand it to Minnesota. . .they have interesting elections.
