Either one can get a rise of the hardcore.

If those were the last two discussion topics on earth I'm afraid I'd have to ask for a blindfold and a pistol.

I'm not really into either one too much, but given a choice, and I'll take politics any day.

Sports is the better topic of debate. Quantitative statistics help for some kind of an objective discussion. Besides-"The less a man knows the louder he has to say it."

I like watching, playing, and talking about sports way more than I do anything relating to politics. I find it necessary to keep up with what happens in the world of politics, but there is no way I would ever find it more enjoyable than a good game.

Pre 9/11, I lived sports, but I never had a heated debate over anything sports related, I don't see the point of it.We here in Michigan are pretty much of the same mind: The Lions suck and always will as long as the Ford family owns them.

I've worked in politics, and I love sports, and there are a lot of similarities between the two (and a host of differences, of course, but that's for another day.) I don't have much patience for "my team is better than your team" debates in either topic, but I enjoy nuances in either.

Politics is more intersting overall, but discussing/ debating sports can be more fun. Although....a lot of people will get even more angry in the heat of a sports debate.
