I used the mach 3 for years about 8 to be exact and I finally got fed up with the prices of the cartridges and went cold turkey to double edge shaving you know the ones your dad and grandpa used, the blades are only about 50 cent and the cost of one of these razors is cheap compared how long it will last you ( I have a Merkur). There is a learning curve to this style but .... I have never had a shave this close in my entire life. Visit BadgerandBlade.com it's something to chew on when you get tired of buying cartridges. Sorry Mach 3 or any other replacement cartridge razor out there we had fun while it lasted but you day's are over for me.

I tried the Mach3 and while I felt I got a close shave, I felt that the Sensor Excel which I have been using for years did just as well. On top of that, Sensor Excel is a lot cheaper than Mach3.

Mach 3 is also very awkward to use and I feel ii was very difficult to use under the nose and around the Adam's Apple.

I'm sticking to Sensor Excel, better shave for the price and easier to handle.

Gillette has perfected the razor with the Mach 3 Turbo. Yes it is better than the regular Mach 3. I have tried the M3 powered razor and I find it distracting. The Mach 3 Turbo blades are expensive but they last a month for me and shave oh so close.

Gillette is the only razor I like, the rest seem to scratch as it shaves. When this one came out, I had my doubts and for the price, it was very difficult for me to spend the money on it. It was worth it and the razor lasts a lot longer. I can shave my legs in fewer strokes because it never leaves those tiny hairs behind. I am referring to the men's version, I don't like the women's at all.

Better than most razors. I didn't like it at first, due to the odd shape of the razor/handle assembly, but it does give a smooth shave. Unless I shave up though (ugh), It's not really that close. In all honesy, I'm not overly concerned about a baby smooth close shave. Men have hairy faces, a shave just has to be close enough so that we don't look like a bum.

Best razor out there. Sown size is longevity and price. But man it shaves like no other the first 1/2 dozen shaves.

It gives a close shave but can easily irritate the skin, probably due to the 3 blades passing over the skin. The blade prices are a little pricey but it does give you the closest shave possible, just shave slowly.

Gives an excellent shave, but read my review of Gillette Sensor Excel, which I like better. I would give this 5 stars if the blades lasted more than 5 shaves (ok, I do have a very course beard). Also, the blades just seem too pricey unless I purchase them at Wal-Mart with a coupon.

I'am 47 yrs old and I have been using gillette products since the age of 19,so I'am a true believer but I wish they would make the blades a little more sharper on the mack3.

The best razor out there, hands down. I like the original much better than the turbo.

After the first shave you'd be better off using a broken beer bottle for what this does to your face.

I haven't used a razor in about 4 years, I use the beard trimmer only and that gets it down to a 5 o clock shadow which is good, because I look good with it, but for razors the Mach 3 is awesome, the last time I used one, my shaving experience was very good, you get shaved quicker, closer and less nicks and cuts. Bassically is just easier and better.

It is the only razor I can use. Everytime i shaved before I would get razor burn on most of my face and all of my neck. I was shaving right, but my skin was just to sensitive. Until the next generation razor comes out I will use this and my electric trimmer alone. It's Fantastic

I was pretty satisfied with my Gilette Sensor, but back when I turned 18, Gilette sent me a free Mach3 in the mail, so naturally i gave it a try. Anyway it does a lot better job than my old razor, and I would definitely recommend at least trying it.

I have used this razor ever since it was put on the market. Lately (for about the last year) I found the blades are getting dull much faster. I used to get a weeks worth of shaving from one blade and now only 3 or 4 days. Though the first shave is incredible, I can not justify the cost of these blades anymore.

I use this on my legs and it is by far the best razor I've ever used. Been using it for over a year now and have not had one nick. My husband has started using this razor too now. It is pricey, but it lasts a lot longer then other razors I've tried. (Less to throw away too)

Mach 3 has got to be one of those little inventions that make a great impact. It has three fine blades that cut closer and better than any other shaving system on the market (and this includes the electric ones too). The biggest drawback to the blades mechanically is that they do not last very long because the blades tend to be finer than other two-blade systems like Atra. The Mach3 has a blue strip that provides a good gauge of how much more 'cut' the blades have in them. Now, the biggest drawback overall is actually the pricetag: a pack of 4 blades, for example, can cost you upwards of $8 or $9, so if you use a blade for one week, you pay about $9 a month for it. The blades are actually individually more expensive than the shaver itself. One way to save the blade is to make sure your face is moist and that you apply a lot of shaving lotion before using the blade. While the blade amazingly cuts very well initially without almost any shaving cream (I have never seen a blade do this before) it gets worn down pretty quickly without sufficient lotion. If you are careful, the blade might last you up to a couple of weeks or even more, so in that sense it may become more economically feasible. All in all, mechanically it is an ultra-superior razor, but economically your budget may not be able to allow year-round Mach3 shaving.

It did the job but costs way to much. Also dosen't work too well on the rounded corners of the jaw or neck. I would rather use something like the SensorExel and get just as good of a shave for half the price. It is a good razor but not quite 3 dollars a cartridge good.

It may be a little costly but it's well worth it. Three blades with lubrication above it and a plastic protective band below it. What a genius design. The closest shave of all time came from this razor and I definitely recommend it. Hell, I don't even get any knicks. I'm sold on this product!!

AWESOME. I never thought I would trade my electric shaver for a regular one, but then my boss told me about this one and I tried it. I will never go back to anything else. The blades don't pull and you get a very clean shave. A little knick now and then, but that's probably because I shave at the speed of light.

Too expensive. Does a decent job but doesn't justify the outrageous prices for blade refills.

I love this razor and have one myself so i wouldn't nick my then other halfs razor all the time. Lets face it, womens razors don't seem to be anywhere near the high standard mens are, and you men wonder why us women nick your razors all the time?
