Picnics are as American as apple pie.
I love most kinds of pie - especially fruit pies with double crust.

Never heard of pie being much of a picnic food; then again, I've never gone on all that many picnics. Still, depending on the type of pie (I'm not a great fan of "fruit" pies...blueberry, peach, cherry, etc....although I'll eat them in a pinch), it's a great food item wherever and whenever you have it, particularly pecan (my favorite), or apple crumb (which gives lie to my assertion that I don't like "fruit" pies-- I love it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream..heaven!), or banana cream, or coconut custard, or Boston cream, or...

I like pie!

Blueberry, in particular!

I don't think pie is a very good picnic item. I think if a person is going to bring a dessert to a picnic, it should be something like brownies or cookies. I will eat pie, but it really is not my favorite.

Unfortunately the title isn't too specific about what time of Pie it is... it could be the sort of Pie you have with potatoes, or a savoury pie like Pork Pies, or even a dessert type pie with fruit in. If it's a Pork Pie or a fruit pie then I think they go well with picnics, if it's the other sort of pie then they don't go well with picnics at all as you'd need to warm it up.

Most kinds of pie are good (although I personally don't like apple), but the only problem is that if the even is well planned, I probably won't have room for dessert.

A pie doesn't need to be eaten right out of the oven, nor does it have to be served cold. This makes it a great item for a picnic to finish off the meal.

I don't really like pie crust, but I eat the filling and it's yummy. :)

Excellent as a picnic item. Variety of filling and ingredients are endless, they seem to travel well and can sit out for a reasonable length of time without fear of spoiling. Except for the ones with graham cracker crust, pie is something I can do without. I know I'm in the minority here so, I think it's still a crowd pleaser and a good choice.
