 | twansalem (36) 10/31/2007 | Real cranberry sauce only, none of that jellied crap in a can for me.

 | SharonParry (42) 11/23/2006 | In my family, both physical and extended, it's equivalent to fruit cake at Christmas. One year I tried making my own cranberry relish instead. It was a whole lot better, but, took a lot of work and it is very tart compared to the canned stuff.

 | AndrewScott (71) 11/21/2006 | Pure cranberries are quite tart, but I've learned to have a taste for the jellied stuff that slides out an Ocean Spray can.
This was my quick side dish that I brought over to a couple Thanksgiving dinners before my mom let me know that it didn't hit the right nostalgic notes for her. I guess her mom didn't make it with high fructose corn syrup.
Cranberry sauce is very traditional for Thanksgiving dinners, but not likely to be an across-the-board crowd pleaser. On the plus side, the a can of Ocean spray sauce is very inexpensive and quick to serve.

 | kamylienne (77) 11/24/2005 | I don't know why, but I actually bought my first can of cranberry sauce EVER a few days ago for Thanksgiving.
I don't really like the stuff all on its own, and I didn't like it at all until just recently (only with certain meats, too). But, it's grown on me, so there sits that can on the counter, waiting for tonight.
Happy Thankgiving everyone. I hope everyone recognizes all that they have to be thankful for.

 | Kairho (11) 10/12/2005 | Essential! The Thanksgiving experts will require "loose" sauce with big pieces of cranberries with the main meal ... and jellied slices for the next day's sandwiches.
I'm a cranberry sauce and stuffing mixer myself.

 | mystic mango (0) 11/25/2004 | Mmmm...Cranberry sauce! I can't stand the jelly kind though. It has to be actual cranberries.
