McNair was a great quarterback for the Titans. He had a great career with them, and he was a great leader. He was also a good guy. It is to bad he was shot to death. I hope they find the shooter very soon and that he gets a heavy sentence, especially considering it is very possible they shot both McNair and the girl.UPDATE: Looks like the girl he was with was the shooter. She shot hers self, probably right after killing McNair. At least she is dead, too.

As a lifelong Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans fan, I'm sorry to see McNair die so young. He along with Eddie George was the face of the franchise upon moving to Tennessee. Those guys left everything on the field, tremendous competitors and based on their attitudes on the field as well as in the community, class guys. Unfortunately, he left a wife and 4 children without their father based on his recent decisions. As his friends are saying we all make mistakes.

I liked McNair and he seemed to be a good person. He is a loss. I suppose he liked to hang out in tough places like other NFL stars, but I haven't heard where he was shot.

He was a very good quarterback who never fully received his due, at least in my opinion. What little I saw of his off-field life gave the impression that he was a generous guy who genuinely cared about people. Whether that was true or not, I don't know, but it seemed that way to me.Unfortunately for him and those close to him, he seems to be the victim of what, on the basis of information released to date, appears to be a classic murder-suicide case. It doesn't appear that there is any great mystery to his murder, and frankly I find some of the puritanical commentary I've read in some places about his relationship with the young woman found dead with him more than a touch repellent.

It was definitely a shock to hear that Steve McNair had been murdered. He was a great player throughout his career, and was a guy that could be respected for how he conducted himself on the field. I remember an incident a few years ago in which he and a relative were in some sort of trouble after a night out in a bar. From the details surrounding his death, you get a glimpse that he might have had some personal issues that were less than desirable. However, whatever his faults were it seems like its a waste of a life for him to be taken so young. He has four sons who won't have their father around to help them grow, and that is truly sad. It definitely upsets me to hear of his murder, and I pray for the best for his family as they adjust and heal from this incident.
