Right now? Montana given his entire body of work. But Brady is a top ranked QB, who with a few more excellent years can reach that rank. As of right now, Peyton Manning and Brady are the two best QB's of their generation. That's the real matchup to watch!! The guy did earn three SB rings before age 27, so I would say that he does deserve to be in the conversation, but lets wait for his career to finish up before making any final judgments.

I'll take Joe every time, although I think Tom Brady has done one thing Joe didn't... he lost in a Super Bowl. *chuckle*

Joe Montana versus Tom Brady? Not to take away from Tom Brady's numerous accomplishments, as he is arguably the best quarterback in the game today, but Joe Montana was the ultimate pressure-time quarterback in the biggest games, who guided his teams to countless come-from-behind victories, and made the Super Bowl his personal stage. Yes, Brady led the New England Patriots to last-second Super Bowl victories against the St. Louis Rams and the Carolina Panthers. But what is often forgotten is that he put his team within field goal range of Adam Vinatieri foot to seal those otherwise remarkable wins. Not so with Joe, who took the San Francisco 49ers the length of the field in Super Bowl XXIII versus the game Cincinnati Bengals, and threw a perfect pass in between two Bengals defenders to John Taylor to cap-off their third world championship with 43 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. Besides the fact that he never once threw an interception in the Super Bowl, the 49er great often outsmarted dominant defenses of his era (and arguably any era) led by bruisers such as Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, Howie Long, Charles Haley and Mike Singletary with short-precision passes, mixing in yard-eating rushes by high-stepping running back Roger Craig, and used great time-management to his team's advantage. When all is said and done, Montana is the quarterback everyone wanted to be like, and of which Tom Brady has admitted to having idolized his entire life. And the big picture is simply that "Joe Cool" was the best of his era, and along with Johnny Unitas who is often cited as the other quarterback mentioned under the same breath, is the greatest quarterback ever. Again, Montana versus Brady? Brady is good...real damn good (and he may still be reaching his peak). But Montana...no one may ever compare to Montana, and certainly not Brady.

Simple- Montana.I will take nothing from Brady...he has proven himself to be one of the best QB's in NFL history; but, unlike Joe Montana, he has always been surrounded by one of the best teams.Montana proved he could make a huge difference with the 49'ers when they ruled the league and with the Chiefs when they were...the Chiefs.
