How did this company make it on this list of "best" insurance companies???? Even before the economic crises, this company has had poor consumer ratings and numerous complaints with the Department of Insurance in several states.

I have been an AIG customer for many years and sad to say i am disappointed by the treatment i am getting for my Hurricane Katrina claim. I reported my lost a week after the hurricane, i waited a month before an appraiser looked at my car, despite the fact that i called twice a week to remind them. I understand the magnitude of the disaster, what i don't understand is why AIG will not extend my car rental, since it was not my fault that they took so long to do my appraisal.
