Ive heard ?money hungry" on here a few times and i must say that i agree...it brings me to the point i was going to make here. 24 hour fitness is WAYYY over crowded.. they are worried so much about their competative edge that they are packing the place too much and making it too uncomfortable to work out.. something has to be said about this.. its just not right!! I come to get a good work out and in a timely fashion. you get people on their crappy equipment sitting there like a lump of sugar daydreaming chatting texting on the phone.. meanwhile all i wanna do is work out.. i will talk on my phone at a more appropriate time! so so rude to do when you people KNOW there is other people waiting in line to use the equipment.. and people wipe them down when you are done.. my god!! we dont have all day to wait around for other people to sit and daydream..its too overcrowded and its beginning to get worse every time of the way as well!! horrible!!! i was working out on a machine i use regular... 1 star This is the worst gym: staff members, personal trainers and phone personnel, are rude. If you need a little courtesy, this in NOT the place for you. .

WITH A BUSY WORK SCHEDULE AND LIMITED TIME, ATTENDING A GYM FOR MY WIFE AND I IS DIFFICULT TO SCHEDULE. WHEN WE ATTEND AN ORGANIZED CLASS, WE EXPECT THE BEST OF SERVICES. I MUST FIRST SAY THAT THE INSTRUCTORS ARE GREAT. THE EQUIPMENT IS AWFUL. THE BAKERSFIELD BENARD ST GYM HAS 12 TO 15 BIKES WITH 3 TO 5 NOT SAFELY FUNCTIONING AT ANY GIVEN CLASS. WHEN CLASS IS AT MAX AND MY WIFE AND/OR I HAVE IN INOPERABLE BIKE MORE TIMES THAN NOT, IT'S TIME TO CHANGE GYMS. WE ATTEMPTED TO EXPRESS OUR CONCERNS TO THE MANAGER, WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WAS TOLD TO LEAVE A PHONE NUMBER TO RECIEVE A CALL FROM THE MANAGER. THAT WAS MAY...AND THE CALL NEVER CAME. ON MAY 7 WE CANCELLED OUR MEMBERSHIP JOINING ANOTHER GYM. A FORMAL LETTER WAS GIVEN TO THE STAFF. CHECKING MY ACCOUT, MEMBERSHIP DUES WERE DEDUCTED YESTERDAY 6 JULY...I CALLED THE GYM TO FIND OUT WHY THEY WERE STILL DEDUCTING MEMBERSHIP DUES. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER AND BRING IN MY BANK STATEMENT TOMORROW... Read more

Hello, I am a returning member at 24 hour fitness. I've had a very poor experience since I signed up 3 months ago with billing and customer service which has resulted in monthly frustrating phone calls. I will be canceling my membership tomorrow and posting reviews on the internet about poor customer service and wasting my money at 24 hour fitness. My account was setup for auto payments so I don't have to worry about this problem and now I'm having to argue with your staff about late fees. To top it off, I will not get my last months payment returned because "it was required to sign up for a membership." What a waste of time and money! Randy

So here's a new one for you....there was a new 24 hour fitness opening in my area. As a Personal Trainer, I was interested in applying to work with them due to location and for what I believed to be a good company. When I went in to the club to apply, I got a tour and felt great about the progress I had made....sounds great, right? Then before I knew it, the "tourguide" started trying to sell me memberships! All I wanted was a job...not a membership. To me, this shows how money hungry the company is, as well as, this individual. Needless to say, I am NOT an employee of this gym!

Not clean at all. Smells terrible at night. The classes never change. I used to love this place, but it no longer gets the job done.

This only happen less than an hour ago so I am still a little upset (my four year old is doing much better than I am). My four year old and I got to the 24 Hour fitness at the 700 e 400 s location in SLC, Utah between 3-4 time a week. We see the same clerk that attends the kids club. She has never portrayed a very positive attitude for the past year we've been going. Today, I am just dumbfounded! While being delayed by the front desk to clear up a billing issue from the new added fee for kids club (this issues just cant seem to get clear up on 24hourfitness's end. Kids Club added fee another nightmare) our son was waiting for me at the entry to the kids club. This was about three minutes and when I got to the kids club to check our son in, the clerk told me that he had just tinkled in his pants. The clerk said she knew that he had to pee and knowing our son, he was probably squirming the whole time trying to hold it. The clerk even said he had told her that he had to "go potty" but ... 24 hour fitness is having issues right now.. they are changing OWNERS.. from what I hear.. look out! also they are sly and tricky with memberships and what they say to get someone to join. TRUST ME ON THIS "I USED TO WORK FOR THEM" and heard lots of BS to get people to sign up... now that I do not work for them I am back to my contract when it was Family Fitness (before they became 24 hour fitness) ... I have ALL ACTIVE club membership, the ISSUE at hand is they are letting all the active clubs run down, or closing them, and forcing us to UPGRADE to like min of $120. per year.. when I ONLY PAY $40.0 a year now!!! I did pay $400. upfront when I joined years ago, didn't have to pay dues till 3 years and now only $40.0 per year and NOW they are closing all the Active gyms and making them in to SPORT CLUBS and not letting us in!!! THIS IS NOT RIGHT .. I have talked with some Law offices and they say they have been hearing this once to twice a week now from upset people and maybe in time d... Read more

Women's restroom is DISGUSTING and a HEALTH HAZARD! Obviously the situation has not been elevated to corporate or local press, like Mike Turko, which it should be. The explanation I received by front desk personnel was that the cleaning crew consists of MEN only, and they have no opportunity to get into the women's locker room. Why then, which I asked staff, do they post placards that say the locker room is cleaned daily. Also, placards are posted stating sauna is closed 11pm-5am EVERY DAY for cleaning. The sauna has NOT BE CLEANED for at least 3 months and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the grime build up. The locker room will eventually combust which might be the best thing. If I were a women I would INSIST to see the men's locker room before joining and compare it to the women's. Potential members BEWARE!

In Short With classes ranging from 24 Hour Tease, a sexy strip aerobic class, to the more subdued Vinyasa flow yoga and butt-kickin' boot camp, this active sports club is packed with health conscious (and some insomniac) gym goers. Stocked with the latest cardio and weight-training equipment, this gym cranks up the pumping music, flicks on the Plasma TV sets, and lets fitness fanatics work out according to their own schedule. With affordable rates and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, personal training is another tangible get-fit option. And while the moniker is somewhat misleading, on most days the door is open for at least nineteen hours--not too shabby.

Terribly overpriced and really difficult to cancel. I argued with the people who worked at the gym over the phone when he lied to me and told me the only way was to drive up there in person and do it. I knew that couldnt be true so I looked it up, called a number and then argued with some lady who didnt know english for 20 min. just to cancel. Finally she complied and stopped trying to bribe me with offers and canceled my membership. Then they steal an extra month of money out of you when you cancel. When i called first guy at the gym back to question him he seemed really nervous and suddenly changed his story to, "Oh yeah, theres a way to cancel over the phone". They try to make it really hard by putting you on hold for too long, giving you non english speaking operators who try to argue against your decision, and then lying and saying theres no way to do it over the phone. Horrible...

I love 24 Hour Fitness; I exercise by myself regularly, and also train with a FABULOUS trainer! You need to know that a lot of trainers are just making money and most dont even know anything about proper workouts! Losing weight isnt the most important thing I mean obviously if you burn more than you eat youre going to losing weight Duh! I strongly believe in hiring a personal trainer because theyll teach you about proper exercising, and to tell you the truth there arent that many wonderful trainers, but you just have to look for one and ask as many people that have trainers as possible! So if youre looking for a personal trainer and you have no clue what the difference between a good or bad trainer then here are some tips about a GREAT trainer. - They have a good posture when they sit and stand - They do not push you to buy supplement and/or more personal training - They pay so much attention to what you are doing - They make you warm up and/or warm down before a rough exercise - ... Charged me 4 times when i tried to get one membership. Now 900 of my money is beheld hostage, 5 days before Christmas, and according to there "Contract" I have to submit a written notice mailed to them, with in 3 days. 3 days isn't the problem, its the fact that according to that "Contract" It will take them 30 days to mail me a check. What every you do don't use 24 hours fitness online ordering system. I know how to use computers I'm a Management Information System major, and The web site and process is flawed! It has the potentail to submit one order many times. I think the only reason it stoped at the 4th is because i ran out of money in my account for it to charge me a 5th, 6th, and so on.

This gym is a money hungry organization. The financial policies are formed so as to take as much money from you as possible for gym access, not allow you any flexibility with your membership, and make it almost financially impossible to quit. Not only is it ridiculously expensive to join, but it costs an arm and a leg to cancel your membership. They require you to call in to an 800 number that is only open during certain times. And...when you want to cancel, you have to give 30 days notice...the way it works out you will have paid for membership for 2-3 months past when you wanted to cancel depending on when your billing cycle is! Example....your billing date is the 15th. you call in on the 20th and want to cancel (note: you've just paid for the current month in advance). They will say "you haven't given us 30 days notice" so they will still bill you for the next month (which is in advance). Then your "last month dues" that you paid at sign-on are tacked on at the end of that month... Read more

I had 5 days to cancel a 3 years contract, on the 4rt day I called the sales manager JohnPaul Cuzzo and he gave me 5 more days to think about it. Six days after signing the contracted I decided to cancel and the manager said he had never spoken to me, he didn't know who answer his phone.

Snobby, rude employees. High membership fees & dues. They withdrew our membership dues THREE times in one month! They caused overdraft fees and refused to refund the money. They said it was our fault that we didn't have more money in our account. THEY WERE ONLY SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT OUT ONCE, we had enough money for that! We had to send our complaint to the BBB and they settled it all for us. THEY ARE RIDICULOUS! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!

I was looking for a place to work out so I decided to check them out. I went in and they gave me a tour of the place and I was really impressed. Then my tour guy started going over my goals with me and letting me know how they could help me accomplish my goals. (So far so good right!?) I told him I didn't want to make a desecion right there,I just wanted to get some prices so I could go home and think about it. He went and got one of his supervisors because He said she could give me a better discount As soon as she came in she tried pressuring me like no other. She told me if I made a desecion right there I could get a discount and I had to get it then because the prices were going up the next day. When I told her I didn't feel comfortable this girl tried to make me feel stupid . I had to sit there for ten minutes arguing back and fourth with her. After they knew I wasn't going to budge they both became very cold towards me. She walked out the last comment out of her mouth pretty much... Read more
