 | Solenoid DH (19) 12/01/2004 | I've lived here less than a year, and was going to get an account at Hibernia. But a friend talked me into putting my money in another bank (I won't name it) instead, so I did. Well, next thing I knew, my friendly bank sent me a notice that I was overdrawn. I ran over to the bank and immediately transferred money from my savings to checking account. Then I talked to them to make sure it was well covered. They assured me it was. But the next day, I got another overdraft notice. I came in and tranferred more from my meager savings and asked them to show me how to keep this from happening. They told me again that I was well covered, not to worry. But the next day (the third in a row) I got ANOTHER overdraft notice. That was the last straw, because they were penalizing me each time and taking away money that I needed much more than the bank did. So I decided to switch to Hibernia, which had been my first choice all along. When I went into the lobby, I told them I wanted to open an account with them. They told me to go sit in a waiting area and they would be with me shortly. Well, it was a very large & roomy bank but for some reason, they didn't seem to have anyone interested enough to talk to me. I sat and waited quite a while, along with a couple of other people who were also there ahead of me waiting and being ignored. So I finally just gave up and found a third bank (Regions) and put my money there. They're rather slow, which can be annoying, but at least they act like they care about you. I don't think Patty Hearst with her gun could have gotten the attention of THIS Hibernia branch.
