 | Djahuti (54) 05/22/2006 | Alone:not on the phone, online or watching TV.I am a firm believer in the healthy practice of spending quality time with oneself. Many people are so constantly bombarded with other peoples views and opinions, drugged by mass media and just plain fragmented by the pace of modern living that they are completely out of touch with their own feelings.

 | Bird808 (52) 05/22/2006 | I think i'm in the same boat as Aurielle where I love people, but sometimes I really need to be alone. I find that people who are constantly stressed don't get time out as sometimes their life simply cannot acquire that as five minutes off can cost them.

 | Vudija (92) 05/21/2006 | A few people mentioned that it is essential for maintaining a healthy level of sanity, which I highly agree with. I have devoted time to "me-time", ever day since I was in middle school. I enjoy being around family, friends, and even people that I have just met; but I NEED time to myself just to unwind. That's probably why my alone times, fall in the middle of a REALLY hectic day, or at the end of a normal day.

 | Silver Eagle 252 (8) 05/21/2006 | This is key to maintaining sanity. I make it a point to get to work early every day to have some alone time, go over the newspaper and plan my day.

 | kattwoman (24) 11/09/2005 | i remember reading an article on how to deal with post partum blues and one of the things it suggested was taking at least 5 minutes a day just to be alone and relax and clear your thoughts. i think we all need this whether we have just had a baby or not. i know that if i don't have a little free time with no interruptions i become stressed out.

 | Aurielle (18) 11/29/2004 | I really do love people, but sometimes I feel like I'll go insane if I don't get away from them, even if it's just for a little while. It's nice to have me-time where I can just sit back with a good book and not have to worry how I look or what I say.
